Smashing Start to the Pumpkin Patch

You may have noticed that the front courtyard of our church has become curiously orange overnight. In case you haven't happened to see them yet, our Pumpkin Patch is simply bursting at the seam with gourds! This past weekend was our Pumpkin Unload, and I could not be more grateful to every single person who came out to help. We had church members, Day School families, and of course--our Scouts lending us a hand this past Saturday. We put in some good, hard work and welcomed 2,169 pumpkins out into the front courtyard at the feet of our large Oak tree. But we don't want those pumpkins getting too comfortable!!! Now that the hard work of rolling them off the truck is done, we have the joy of welcoming our friends and neighbors onto our church yard to come and peruse and purchase our pumpkins. Spread the news about these autumnal beauties and please continue to sign up to work in the patch. Together, the work we do in service to one another, our community, and to the Lord is not a burden, but indeed a blessing. May we continue to be blessed and be a blessing throughout this Fall season. Thank you for being such a welcoming and kind faith community.

In Love,

Tyler Paulsen

Minute for Ministry: Recap on the Care Portal

The Mission Committee would like to extend a special thanks to the entire CHPC church family and your support of our partnership with Care Portal.  You have assisted 62 children with an incredible economic impact of $62,696! It was such a pleasure to welcome Cindy Cantrell, Executive director of Smile Foster Closet/Care Portal to deliver this news to our congregation in person this past Sunday.

This is tremendous and while numbers are cool, what is more meaningful is that for every one of those 62 children, there is a story. There is a child whose life is brighter because your time, donations, and involvement has brought the light of Christ into their lives! And that is what Care Portal is truly all about.

If you have any questions regarding the Care Portal and/or would like to become involved, please contact Allen Booth, Brenda Clark, or Cari Parker.

Thank you for being the hands of feet of our Jesus!

You are welcome here.

Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt, you'll find people who have been there and accept you where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers, and enjoy life within this community of faith.

All are welcome!

All Things Pumpkin Patch:

Our Pumpkin Patch is open from 11-7 pm every day for the next five weeks, until the end of October...or if we sell them all!

Thank you for continuing to sign up to spend time in the Pumpkin Patch! If you haven't picked out a time to volunteer yet, be sure to stop by the Sign up sheets that are located in the Narthex. We are blessed by such giving and generous church members, and we will continue to need volunteers to make this ministry happen! Time slots are available in two hour increments. Let's all chip in where we can and make sure all these time slots are covered. Thank you all for continuing to be a part of this wonderful annual ministry for our community!

Fall Event Line-Up

As we enter this fun and busy season, let's continue to pull together as a church family to make it all happen. Please keep signing up and showing up. Thank you for your constant labors of love for our church and community! More details for these awesome events are listed below.

Our Fall Festival will be on October 10th from 11-2 pm. We will have inflatables, crafts, a bake sale, balloon animals, and of course pumpkins! This is fun for the whole family, so invite your friends and neighbors and be sure to sign up to volunteer to work these festival stations.

There is a collection basket in the office reception area for candy donations, thank you so much for bringing treats for the children of our community!
