This past Monday night, the Lakewood Methodist Church Youth Choir from Jacksonville, Florida visited CHPC on their multi-state summer choir tour and shared a wonderful concert in the Sanctuary with praise and worship music, scripture recitals, and video skits.

They enjoyed CHPC's hospitality, staying overnight in the Youth Room and being fed a homemade dinner Monday night and breakfast from Pal's on Tuesday morning before traveling to their next location.



Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the show and to support this inspiring youth group. Special thanks to Shelby Ratchford for arranging the concert, the accommodations, and the meals and to Allen Booth, Elizabeth Shaw, and John Filippone for their hard work in making the concert possible.

Wacky & Wonderful Wednesdays continue this week and next.

Sign-up is still available for children from the age of 4 to rising fifth graders.

Also, part of the Wacky & Wonderful Wednesdays ministry is collecting donations to make prepared meal kits for our Blessing Box. Below is the information on this part of the ministry and a shopping list for items needed for the meal kits. Donations should be placed in the collection basket in the Narthex. Thank you for your donations!

Sleep in Heavenly Peace Bed Build. Please sign up in the Narthex, and contact the Missions Committee with any questions.

Sunday, July 5:

CHPC will celebrate with a worship service focused on praising God through song!

Please let us know your favorite hymns and praise songs so that we can work as many of them as we can into this unique service and then continue to use them throughout the summer.

Drop your suggestions in the box in the Narthex or email them to Elder Karen Bennett.

Ongoing:

The Blessing Box is a vital lifeline to our neighbors facing food insecurity, especially with school being out for the summer. To keep this little pantry stocked, please consider donating directly in the box at the street, located directly in front of the Jones Building, or in the collection basket located in the Narthex. 

Suggested items are any non-perishable foods or essential hygiene items. A detailed suggestion list is available in the Narthex collection basket. Thank you for your continued care for this community!

Children are always welcome in Worship and have a special time together down front after the prayer of confession. All children may enjoy “Children’s Church” downstairs during the sermon and may be picked up in the Kid's Connection room after worship.

The Chancel Choir practices each Wednesday night at 7:15 pm in the Sanctuary. Interested in making a joyful noise with new friends? All voices are welcome! Please contact Emily Broadhead to see how you can participate.

The Praise Band is looking for a new band leader. If you know of anyone who may be interested in this role, please let us know.
