Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that

values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,

you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers, and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!

Don't Forget About Sunday's

Each member of the Body of Christ is also a part of what is called the "priesthood of all believers." It means each of us as beloved children of God are welcome to participate in worship in a variety of ways. On any given Sunday at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church we've got volunteers who are greeting, ushering, singing, praying, reading, preparing communion, playing with kids, and even ringing a bell too!

All are welcome to come and learn the in's and out's of worship leadership at this Sunday's annual volunteer training. Lunch will be provided, so please contact David ASAP to ensure there is enough to go around.

This Sunday in Worship: January 18, 2026

Second Sunday of Epiphany + Officer Installation

The Season of Epiphany continues in worship as the star we followed from Jesus' birth, to Christ's communion table, and then to the Lord's baptismal font, comes to rest above the written Word of God. Reformed Theologian Martin Luther called the Bible "the cradle wherein Christ lay." It is like a wardrobe that welcomes us into a magical world of faith. The words of Holy Scripture are a blessing that reveal to us the glory of God, and this week, we turn to the Ten Commandments to hear how this first covenant helps us remember who and whose we are. All are welcome to join us this Sunday as we listen to another story from C.S. Lewis' “Chronicles of Narnia” about two children and one marsh-wiggle who are tasked by the great lion to remember the signs of faith throughout their adventure. May we do likewise as we look to the Word of God and discern how best to live in the light of God's love.

Please note, this week's worship service includes the celebration of ordination and installation for new church officers. The entire congregation is invited to wear red as a sign of thanks for the good work of the Holy Spirit in calling these church leaders into service on behalf of our church family.

Sunday's Scriptures:

Isaiah 46:3-11, NRSV

Deuteronomy 5:1-10, NRSV

Sermon Title:

"Hear, O Israel”
