values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,

you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!

This Sunday in Worship: January 5, 2025

Epiphany Sunday

It may be a New Year but the Season of Christmas continues at CHPC as we celebrate Epiphany this coming Sunday. Epiphany is the liturgical feast day when the church remembers the magi visiting the Christ-child. A bright star in the sky guided their way to Bethlehem to honor our newborn king. What bright star guides our lives in this new year? Let us pay attention to what God illuminates before us and how we might faithfully live into that light of love.

All are welcome to share the Peace of Christ with coffee and fellowship at 9:30 am in the Parlor before worship begins at 10:00 am in the Sanctuary. Hope to see you there and invite a friend to tag along!

Sunday's Scriptures:

Psalm 72:1-7, 10-14, NRSV

Matthew 2:1-12, NRSV

Sermon Title:

"Overwhelmed with Joy"

Annual Worship Volunteer Training

Are you interested in serving during Sunday worship? It takes over twenty people to help us worship on a typical Sunday morning. A worship volunteer training is scheduled for noon on Sunday, January 12 after Sunday School. Come and learn the in's and out's of serving as a liturgist, usher, or communion preparer. Lunch will be provided for all those who attend. Please let David know if you’re interested in serving and planning on attending this event.

Faith Formation Brainstorming Event

COME ONE AND ALL to a Faith Formation Brainstorming Event on Wednesday, January 15 at 6pm. Don’t worry, NO ONE will be asked to serve on the committee and NO ONE will be asked to head up a project; The only thing we will be discerning will be how God is leading us to feel, know, and share the love of Christ in this new year. Food and Drink will be served and the meeting will last ONLY ONE HOUR. Please come ready to share ideas that can nurture and deepen our faith and relationship with God and with one another.

In Christ,

- Karen Bennett

Blessing Box Highlight: January

Thank you so much for your support and stewardship of our Blessing Box! Because of your kindness, there are many people in our community who are being served with food and other necessities. For the month of January, we would like to emphasize the collection of can goods to warm the hearts and souls of our neighbors in need. Hearty soups are most welcome!

As a reminder, there are always collection boxes in the narthex for you to conveniently place donations. Please donate whatever you can, either from the list or items you think people in our community would see as a Blessing!

Thanks again for all you do to Love our Neighbors,

Your Missions Committee
