Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that

values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,

you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers, and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!

Thank You For Supporting Missions

All Year Long!!!

“Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have,

for such sacrifices are pleasing to God”  (Hebrews 13:16)

On behalf of your Missions Committee, THANK YOU so much for the ways you incorporate mission into the ministry of the Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church! As we look back on 2025, we see so many uses of our time, talents and treasures – as well as our blood, sweat and tears, to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our neighbors. Here are just a few of the ways you made a difference:

Through your generosity, our Cents-ability offering collected over $6,700 to address food insecurity in our region. Although the Blessing Box on our property is the primary mode of providing food, we were also able to provide food assistance for families with children through Care Portal. We also made a special donation to Second Harvest to address increased needs during the Government Shutdown. This is in addition to other food related ministries such as the 52 Thanksgiving Boxes we filled, support for Kitchen of Hope which feeds those in need near downtown, and Holston Presbytery’s Five Cents a Meal program.

You also stepped up to help local children and families. Through Cap the Gap, our church provided Christmas gifts for six children. We were able to respond to over 19 urgent Care Portal needs by delivering groceries, clothing, backpacks, bedding, cleaning supplies, heaters, car seats, tables and chairs, pots and pans, and even a gas card to get a child to cancer treatments at Vanderbilt. We collected sheets and pillows, built approximately 50 beds and delivered close to 100 beds through Sleep in Heavenly Peace so that “No kid sleeps on the floor in our town!”

We hosted 2 Blood drives in partnership with Marsh Regional Blood Center. There is an electrical team that installs wiring in houses for Habitat for Humanity. Just about everyone took a turn in the Pumpkin Patch, which helped to bring our community together as we worked to support our youth going to Montreat. There are so many more ways that individuals and teams from our church help others that it would be hard to list them all.

The generosity of CHPC is overwhelming, and yet there are still so many needs. If you want to know how you can join in any of these ministries, please contact Terri Marcum, Mark Bland, or any member of the Missions Committee and they would be happy to help you get plugged in. Thanks again for the way you share the Love of Christ so tangibly to the world around you!

This Sunday in Worship:

Fourth Sunday of Epiphany + February 1, 2026

Join us Sunday at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church for the return of our winter sermon series inspired by C.S. Lewis' "Chronicles of Narnia". This week we turn to the book “The Horse and His Boy” which draws on biblical themes like God's providence and our freedom to respond in faith. The Book of Exodus tells the story of Israel walking a similar path, inviting us to consider how God’s guidance and provision are at work in our own lives and how we can faithfully respond as a free people to these gifts of grace. Let us listen for the movement of God's Spirit as we dive into the sweet water of God's Word.

Additionally, all are invited to stay at the end of worship to participate in this year's annual congregational meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to: 1) reviewing the 2025 financials, 2) receiving the approved budget for 2026, and 3) approving the Pastor's annual terms of call.

Sunday's Scriptures:

Galatians 5:1, 13-25, NRSV

Exodus 15:19-27, NRSV

Sermon Title:

"Follow The Footprints"

Habitat For Humanity Faith Build

CHPC is participating in the 2026 Habitat Faith Build to help Articia and her three children build a new home. The build site is located at 129 W Wanola Ave. in Kingsport. There are several ways you can support Habitat - with prayers, financial gifts, or service! We are hoping to raise a total of $5,000 to support this project. We also need volunteers to work on the house during the week of April 14-18. A sign up sheet with more information about the specific work will soon be available in the narthex. All volunteers will need to complete this waiver to participate in the build. Thanks for your support turning this house into a home!
