Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that

values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,

you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers, and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!

What is Faith Formation?

Faith Formation is the process of nurturing spiritual lives and growing in faith through education and community.  The goal of a faith formation event is that our church family would feel, know and share the love of Christ Jesus!

On January 15, 13 people met to brainstorm what this can look like going forward at CHPC. We celebrated the things we already do: worship; pop-up events; youth ministry; children’s ministry; Sunday school; and our church-wide retreat. Next came the brainstorming where we filled a page with new ideas and opportunities like: new small groups; dramas in worship; A Seder Meal; bringing back Simple Suppers; offering a youth - or even an adult - confirmation class; updating the website; making more of our ministry digitally available; and so much more!

And that's where you - our church family - come in; we need your help. We need your thoughts and ideas. What would you like to see us do here at CHPC to nurture your spiritual life? What would you like to see us to that will help our church family "feel, know and share the love of Christ Jesus?" God is working through all of us and we ask that you please pray for this growing aspect of our shared ministry. Please reach out to Karen Bennett or AmyLyn Crawford-Thornton with any and all ideas.

Support Habitat For Humanity's

Annual Faith Build

CHPC is participating in the 2025 Habitat Faith Build to help Matt, his daughter and granddaughter build a new home. The build site is located at 1601 E. Sevier Avenue in Kingsport. There are several ways you can support Habitat - with prayers, financial gifts, or service! We currently have $765 so far and would like to raise an additional $4,235 for a total support of $5,000.  We also need 8 volunteers to work on the house for each of the following dates:  February 25, 26, 28 and March 1. Projects include: blocking for cabinets, installation of attic ladder, attic flooring, outside corner eave "bird boxes", and daily cleanup of the work site. Volunteers can sign up on the schedule located in the Narthex or by calling the church office. All volunteers will need to complete this waiver to participate in the build. Thanks for your support turning this house into a home!

Scout Sunday & Canned Food Drive

Our Annual Scout Sunday will be celebrated in worship on February 9! We will be joined by our beloved members of Troop 48 and they will share with us an update on their activities over the past year. That weekend is the Troop's Continuous Campfire Campout here at the church and canned goods will be collected as part of the food drive to support Second Harvest Food Bank and our Blessing Box Ministry. Thank you for supporting this important ministry and missions event!

Come Game and Soup with Us!

Join us for a Soup & Bowl Sunday night of games on February 16! Our board game night will kick off at 5:00 pm, so bring a game to play with others. We will also be doing a large group activity of trivia, so bring your sharp minds! Dinner will be a chili and/or soup competition, so be sure to bring your favorite winter chili, warm soup dish, side of bread, or favorite dessert to share. We will be voting on our favorites, so a pro tip for you: bring your own muffin tray so you can sample them all!
