This Sunday in Worship:
All Saints' Sunday - November 2, 2025
| | |
Since the ninth century, the Church has honored the holiday of “All Saints” to celebrate all who have kept the faith and to remind us that we are a part of something greater than ourselves; we are members of the one continuing, living communion of God’s saints. And so, we take the time on this holy day to rejoice for those who have faithfully served the Lord in life and in death.
On this coming All Saints’ Sunday, our church family welcomes all of our neighbors to meet us at Christ’s table, to celebrate the sacrament of Communion, to uplift the names of the Necrology, and to explore the historical words of the Nicene Creed. All are welcome to listen and learn from this first ecumenical confession of the church, which for almost two millennia has collectively confessed: “We believe in One God.”
If you have an immediate member of your family (spouse, brother, sister, mother, father, grandparent) that has passed away since November 3, 2024, and would like their name to be included in the Necrology liturgy, please contact David directly by Friday, October 31.

As we gather this Sunday to celebrate the lives of those we love and who have gone on before us, we invite you and our greater community to participate in a special workshop about the topic of a "Good Death" on Saturday, November 22 from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm in the gym. This intentional conversation will cover topics of theology, funerals, grief, hospice care, medical directives, estate planning, and more. The cost is $10 and will go to provide lunch for all who register. Please speak with David to learn more and to RSVP. Family and friends are most welcome, so please spread the word to those who might be interested in joining us for this important conversation.

Thank you prayerfully considering as a family of faith how we might live into God's "dream" in the upcoming year. Additional stewardship packets are still available in the Narthex and online via the church website here. Pledge cards and Time & Talent surveys can be returned to the church office. Thank you for discerning how our gifts may collectively help to lift up others out of the pit like Joseph and realize God's Kingdom, on earth as it is in heaven!

What A Wonderful Weekend
In the Pumpkin Patch!
| | |
We had such an amazing time this past Saturday night hosting our annual Trunk or Treat at CHPC!
It was an absolute blast and we were so pleased to welcome over 400 trick or treaters onto our church campus for this intergenerational event! The weather was wonderful and the costumes were all fantastic; the candy was overflowing and for the first time it all lasted until the very end of the line! Big thank you to everyone who came out, decorated a trunk, and donated candy to ensure everyone had fun during this family friendly event.
| | |
Then on Sunday evening, we had a wonderful Blessing of the Animals service in the Pumpkin Patch! this first annual event was such a special moment for all those who were able to attend, and it was a delight to see our patch turned into a dog park for an hour. Thanks to all those who came and brought their furry companions to give thanks for the goodness of God's creation!
For those who could not attend or wish to offer a blessing of your own, we invite you share in this prayer from St. Francis of Assisi:
Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is hatred, let us sow love; where the is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
