Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that

values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,

you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers,

and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!

Thanks for Sending Our Youth Group

Out And Welcoming Us Back Home!

Our Fall Youth Retreat was one for the books! We had such a good time up in Banner Elk a few weekends ago. Thanks to Holston Presbytery Camp & Retreat Center for hosting and feeding us. Thanks to all the leaders from Holston Presbytery for planning and organizing the chaos! Thanks to Teresa Kendall, the pastor of Piney Flats Presbyterian Church for being our preacher for the weekend. She earned the nickname Queen T! And of course, thank you CHPC, for sending us out and welcoming us back home after such an amazing trip. We hope greatly that we represented you well and are indebted to you for helping shape and form our group for community both within our church, throughout our presbytery, and in the world!

Due to a Clerical Error, this month is a

DOUBLE CENTS-ABILITY MONTH!!

See You Next Week For December Fall First

All are welcome to join us on Wednesday, December 3 for our final Fall First of the year! We will meet downstairs in the gym at 5:15 pm for some much needed mid-week church fellowship. We'll share a meal together, partake in an optional activity, and beyond that, do nothing but spend meaningful time as a family of faith! This month, we'll celebrate the upcoming holiday with a Yuletide craft that is perfect for all God's children of any age!

Family and friends are most welcome, so please spread the word about this monthly ministry!

Making The Holidays Special For Others Too

Special thanks to everyone who brought a Thanksgiving box to donate to families in need! Because of this ministry partnership with Colonial Heights Christian Church, 52 people in our community will be able to enjoy a bountiful meal of their own this Thanksgiving! Thank you for generosity and for sharing the good gifts of God's blessing with others this holiday season.

Don't forget that Angel Tree gifts are to be returned by this coming Sunday, November 30! All donations go to support CHPC's annual support of foster children in Sullivan County. Learn more from our partners "Cap the Gap" or by contacting any of the Angel Tree Captains for more details.

Thank you to all who ordered poinsettias as part of the CHPC Christmas Memorial Gifts program. All names will be printed in the bulletin on Sunday, December 21 and any poinsettias may be picked up after the Christmas Eve service. Monetary contributions may still be offered through December 15 and will go to support the church's renovation fund.

Accompany us this Advent!

The Season of Advent kicks off this Sunday and we would love it if you planned on joining us in worship! Sunday Morning services focus on the traditional seasonal themes of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. The Sacrament of Communion will be celebrated in worship on Sunday, December 7, Wednesday, December 10, and Wednesday, December 24. Several special services are scheduled in the coming weeks, such as a Wholeness & Healing Service and a Children's Christmas Pageant during our annual Lessons & Carols Service, and we welcome all our friends in the community to attend as we anxiously away the coming of the Christ-Child this Christmas. "Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to rescue O Israel."

Kids Christmas Wrap-Up Party!

Save the date for a special kids Christmas event on Saturday, December 6! Parents, enjoy a kid-free Saturday morning to check items off of the Yuletide to-do list! Kids who are three and up are invited to enjoy a CHPC Christmas Party! We'll have snacks, games, crafts, a short film, and pizza for lunch! Please take advantage of a morning at the beginning of the month before the Holiday season gets too busy. Contact Tyler Paulsen with any questions, to volunteer, or to sign your child up!

Help Usher Peace In With Worship

Advent begins in earnest and while the next month of life will be a bit more cheery, it will also be a bunch more chaotic for most of us. During this time of year, it is fair to say that many are also torn by how to feel or for feeling many different emotions when our world tells us its only ok to feel one.

In December, grief can be just as abundant as holiday cheer. And so, in the midst of the busy holiday season, we invite you to join us at CHPC for a special evening service of peace, comfort, & solitude. Come pray with us on Wednesday, December 10th at 6pm as we gather around Christ's Table where all are welcome!

Would You Like A New CHPC Shirt?

We are excited to announce that new Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church swag is on the way! The Youth Group worked hard to put together the design that will be on the back of each garment. When reflecting on their church family, these four words--compassionate, charitable, uplifting, and accepting--were the thoughts they had about their congregation!

Short-sleeve shirts will be $25, youth shirt sizes $20, and sweatshirts will be $35. These will be available to order from our online partner soon, but please begin to let the church office know if you already have planned what you'd like to order. The deadline to sign up for one of these shirts will be Tuesday, December 9th. Any monies raised will go to support the youth ministry as they remind us all of how God looks at each beloved child of God.
