Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that

values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,

you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers, and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!

Thanks for Helping to Make Our

Weekend Holly and Jolly!!

We had an awesome time this past Saturday during our Kids Christmas Event! We decorated Graham Cracker Christmas Houses, colored some tree ornaments, ate some pizza, watched a holiday movie, and even had a snowball fight! Thanks to all of the kids who came out and spent time with us, the youth who helped ensure all the younger children had fun, the parents who brought kids and then got to have some valuable kid-free time during the busy holidays, and of course to all of the volunteers who gave of their time to make sure our kids had some safe holiday fun!!

And thanks to everyone who spent time with us on Sunday afternoon! After a wonderful worship service, we went downstairs to the gym and shared in some fun, fellowship, and food! Thanks to our Congregational Family Life committee for organizing the event and feeding us an awesome lasagna lunch. And thanks to everyone who came to eat and to all who brought a dessert.

Finally, thanks to all who joined us on our Christmas Caroling outing later that afternoon! It was such a blessing to be able to spread Christmas cheer to our homebound church family members. They appreciated the beauty of our singing and were overjoyed by our visit! God is good and it is through events such as all of these that we can see and know the goodness of God. Thank you for making CHPC such a wonderful and impactful family of faith!

Please note that the Session has called a congregational meeting at the close of worship on December 15 to approve the nomination of Terry Marcum to serve as an Elder for the class of 2026. Please make sure to thank Terry after the meeting for accepting this calling to serve in ministry!

Last Chance for Angel Tree

Donations for our CHPC Teachers!

Thanks to everyone who participated with our Angel Tree program last week. Your generosity ensured that twenty foster children were able to receive a present this Christmas season. As a reminder, this Sunday, the 15 is the last chance to bring Angel Tree donations for our CHPC teachers. Along with presents for foster children, we chose to also support the active teachers of our congregation by placing their classrooms on the Angel Tree as well! For those who have chosen a teacher from the Angel Tree, please return teacher angels by this Sunday morning.

Don't Forget about Sunday's

Women's Ministry Christmas Celebration!

The Women's Ministry hosts a Christmas Event this coming Sunday, December 15 at 2:00 pm in the gym complete with a White Elephant gift exchange! Please bring a gift that is used, created, or new (10 dollars or less) to share. Additionally, let's add to the holiday cheer by bringing a favorite finger food or dessert to share. This gathering's missional support is for the Blessing Box and all are encouraged to bring an item to stock the box for those in need. Speak with Teresa Strickler or Ramona Wise to learn more.

Special Upcoming Advent Services

The Season of Advent is in full swing and this year, we invite you to take full advent-age of it!! Several special services are scheduled in the coming weeks and we would love for you to worship with us. Please invite your family and friends.

May this month bring hope in our collective hearts as we anxiously await the coming of our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace!

Christmas Eve Missional Opportunity

This year on Christmas Eve, the Missions Ministry Team will be accepting donations for our ministry partner Sleep in Heavenly Peace. We are proud to help them support children in our community who do not have a place to lay their head like our Lord and Savior long ago. We will accept new sets of twin sheets (normal size) and new pillows. Please place any donations under the Chrismon Tree in the sanctuary. Thank you for your willingness to help shine the light of hope in our own community!

Youth Group Christmas Party

Youth will go an extra half hour, from 5:00-7:00 pm. We will eat, exchange presents, and enjoy some festive games. Parents, please plan to drop off and pick up your student directly at the Randolph residence. Contact Tyler for more questions to to RSVP!

Schedules for serving in the nursery and with the children's ministry are being made now for the new year.  Volunteers are needed to help support this meaningful ministry as we have welcomed new children into the life of our church family. Please consider offering your time and talents to help share the love of Christ with the smallest members of our faith community. Contact Tyler to sign up to serve today!

Thank you to all who ordered poinsettias as part of the CHPC Christmas Memorial Gifts program. All names will be printed in the bulletin on Sunday, December 22 and any poinsettias may be picked up after the Christmas Eve service. Monetary contributions may still be offered through December 15 and will go to support the church's renovation fund.

Are you interested in serving during Sunday worship? A worship volunteer training is scheduled on Sunday, January 12 after Sunday School at noon for anyone interested in serving as a liturgist, usher, or communion preparer. Lunch will be provided for all those who attend. Please let David know you’re interested in serving.

It’s not too late to return the annual Time & Talent survey to share how God is calling you to serve in the new year. Additional surveys are in the Narthex. Thank you for your willingness to volunteer and support the ministry of this church family!

As 2024 comes to a close, we continue to prepare for Christ’s coming by generously giving of our tithes and offering. Thank you for your continued support of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church and for the ministry you help to offer in our community and beyond. Please make sure any final contributions are postmarked by December 31 to be included in this year's final giving statement.
