Sign Up For Habitat For Humanity's

Faith Build This April!

CHPC is participating in the 2026 Habitat For Humanity Faith Build to help Articia and her three children build a new home. The build site is located at 129 W Wanola Ave. in Kingsport. There are several ways you can support Habitat - with prayers, financial gifts, or service! We are hoping to raise a total of $5,000 to support this project and appreciate your generous support. Projects include: Siding prep, Siding installation, Soffit, clean up, lunch preparation, and as always some electrical work!

Volunteers for this Habitat build will need to sign up online. Instruction sheet is available in the Narthex or you can sign up by visiting the website: www.holstonhabitat.org/articiasbuild. After completing the Volunteer Profile (and clicking the button to confirm you have read our Release & Waiver of Liability), volunteers will be directed to a list of available dates. Please scroll to: D. Week 4 which is reserved for our church family and put in "CHPC" for the dates of April 14, 15, 17, and 18 to become available. Volunteers should then finish completing their registration.

Signing up online provides Habitat a seamless way to communicate with volunteers. Habitat will send an email reminder to all registered volunteers prior to each assignment day including all details needed for the work to be accomplished. If you need assistance with registration, you may contact Terri Marcum at 423-444-9667 or Mandy Penz, Volunteer Manager, at 423-239-7689, ext. 801 or volunteer@holstonhabitat.org.

Please speak with Terri Marcum, Sharon Pugh, or any of "The Regulars" to learn more. Remember the dates of the build are April 14, 15, 17, and 18. Only 8 persons are allowed to volunteer each day so sign up quick! Thanks for your support turning this house into a home!

This Sunday in Worship:

Transfiguration Sunday + February 15, 2026

Join us Sunday at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church for the next installment of our winter sermon series inspired by C.S. Lewis' "Chronicles of Narnia" as we finally get to talk about the “The Horse and His Boy”!!! This book draws on biblical themes like God's providence and our freedom to respond in faith. The Book of Exodus tells the story of Israel walking a similar path, inviting us to consider how God’s guidance and provision are at work in our own lives and how we can faithfully respond as a free people to these gifts of grace. Let us listen in God's time for the movement of God's Spirit as we dive into the sweet water of God's Word.

Sunday's Scripture:

Galatians 5:1, 13-25, NRSV

Exodus 15:19-27, NRSV

Sermon Title: "Hear, O Israel"

The congregation is reminded that the Annual Congregational Meeting originally called for Sunday, February 1 will be held this Sunday, February 15 at the conclusion of worship. The Session has called this congregational meeting for the purpose of: 1) Reviewing the 2025 financials, 2) receiving the approved budget for 2026, and 3) approving the Pastor’s annual terms of call.

Giving Thanks for Scout, Soup, and Bowl Sunday!

This past weekend's Scout Sunday was a great success! A big thank you to the youth and leaders of BSA Troop 48, Kingsport, TN that participated in worship and who stayed warm all weekend long during the Continuous Campfire to raise support for Second Harvest Food Bank. For 79 years, CHPC and Troop 48 have been partners in ministry and we are amazed at all this talented crew can accomplish in a single year. We are so proud of this impressive group of young men and women who embody the ideals of scouting as they so faithfully serve others throughout our community. If you would like to learn more about how to get involved with scouting, please reach out to the church office or any member of the troop leadership team.

And later that evening, CHPC's Annual Soup & Bowl event was another amazing time of fellowship and fun! Thanks to everyone who brought something to share with our church family. The soups and chilies were delicious and the company was just as grand. Congratulations to this year's medalists of Shelby Ratchford, Gretchen Bentley, and Katherine Randolph. And of course, a big thank you to every single person who came and added their smiles, laughs, and conversations to our wonderful night of fellowship!

See You Next Week For CHPC's

Fat Tuesday and Ash Wednesday Gatherings!

As the season of Lent begins next week, CHPC prepares to walk with Christ towards the cross with a few upcoming opportunities for worship and fellowship. Things kick off on Fat Tuesday as we enjoy our annual Pancake Party! Dinner will be served at 5:30 pm in the gym. Please spread the word by sharing the Facebook event and inviting to your family and friends to join us. Special thanks to the Men's Fellowship ministry for serving in the kitchen!

The following day, CHPC holds our annual Ash Wednesday Service in the Sanctuary at 6:00 pm. All are welcome to participate in this most meaningful service as we give thanks to God for the gift of life, while also acknowledging the reality of our own mortality. Please extend an invitation to a friend who might appreciate attending one or both of these meaningful gatherings!
