And Don't Forget about Sunday Night's Event!

Join us this Sunday for a Soup & Bowl Game night on Sunday, February 16! Our board game night will kick off at 5:00 pm, so bring a game to play with others. We will also be doing a large group activity of trivia, so bring your sharp minds! Dinner will be a chili and/or soup competition, so be sure to bring your favorite winter chili, warm soup dish, side of bread, or favorite dessert to share. We will be voting on our favorites, so a pro tip for you: bring your own muffin tray so you can sample them all! Check out more details in the Facebook event and spread the word to your family and friends. All are welcome!

Scout Sunday such a Success!

Scout Sunday was a raging success! We want to extend a huge thank you to all of the young people who came to help lead our church in worship this past Sunday morning. We deeply appreciate them for sharing with our church about all the activities the Troop has enjoyed in the past year--they really do put the Outing in Scouting! We are so proud of Scout Troop 48, for all of the hard work that they do and all of the success they achieve. Join us in continuing to pray for those impressive young folks and that wonderful ministry!

Work has Begun on the

Habitat for Humanity Faith Build!

CHPC is participating in the 2025 Habitat Faith Build to help Matt, his daughter and granddaughter build a new home. The build site is located at 1601 E. Sevier Avenue in Kingsport. There are several ways you can support Habitat - with prayers, financial gifts, or service! We are hoping to raise a total of $5,000 to support this project. We also need 8 volunteers to work on the house for each of the following dates: February 25, 26, 28 and March 1.

Projects include: blocking for cabinets, installation of attic ladder, attic flooring, outside corner eave "bird boxes", and daily cleanup of the work site. Volunteers can sign up on the schedule located in the Narthex or by calling the church office. All volunteers will need to complete this waiver to participate in the build. Thanks for your support turning this house into a home!

Update: it is not too late to sign up for those dates, but if the dates for the week our church serves are inconvenient for you, Habitat has reached out and could use additional help on February 18, 19, 21, and 22. If you can help during this week, please follow the link Here to sign up.

Campus Improvement Committee Questionnaire

Since its founding in 1947, Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church has undergone significant facility changes to help empower the ministry of our congregation. We believe God is calling us to prepare for another change to ensure our facilities reflect the love and faithfulness of this church family as we seek to be the body of Christ in our community.

A questionnaire was sent to the congregation on Sunday, February 2, to solicit input about our current facilities and what valuable additions you believe will help sustain our shared ministry for years to come. Thank you for taking the time to thoughtfully answer these questions and for your continued prayers about this important project. This information will be most helpful as we begin to solicit an architect to illustrate a new vision for our facilities. If you have any additional comments or information you would like to share with the committee, please feel free to reach out to any member of the Campus Improvement Committee: Nathan Begue (Co-Chair), Al Doty (Co-Chair), Gretchen Bentley, Tammy Cox, Jonathan Hutchins, Marissa Paulsen, & David Randolph.

Save the Date For Fat Tuesday

and Ash Wednesday!

As the season of Lent approaches, CHPC prepares to walk with Christ towards the cross on Easter with a few upcoming opportunities for worship and fellowship. Things kick off on Fat Tuesday as we enjoy a Pancake Party! Dinner will be served at 5:30 pm in the gym. Check out more details in the Facebook event and spread the word to your family and friends. Special thanks to our Men's Fellowship ministry for serving in the kitchen!

The following day, we hold our annual Ash Wednesday Service in the Sanctuary at 6:00 pm. All are welcome to participate in this most meaningful service as we give thanks to God for the gift of life, while also acknowledging our own mortality. Be sure to invite a friend to one or both of these meaningful gatherings!

News from the Pews

Our very own church custodial staff member, Alec Paulsen and his wife Savanah, welcomed their sweet baby daughter into the world on Wednesday morning. We are overjoyed for the Paulsen family and pray that all continue to feel well and get as much sleep as possible in the days to come. Alec will be taking some time to care for his family, so please speak with David about any facility concerns until Alec returns from his leave.

Welcome to the world, Lucy Jane Paulsen!
