How is God leading us to
Feel, Know, & Share the Love of Christ?
| | |
On Monday, March 2, Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is going to try another new thing during this season of Lent. Three committees of the church - Missions, Faith Formation, and Congregational Family Life - will all gather in the sanctuary for a brainstorming meeting about how we might "feel, know, and share" the love of Christ the rest of this year, and we want you to join us!
Don't worry; showing up doesn't mean you'll be automatically added to a church committee. This is an opportunity for all of us as the Body of Christ to work together, and with the help of the Holy Spirit, to discern what God is calling our congregation to focus in the future. And that's where you - our church family - come in; we need your help! We need your thoughts and ideas: What would you like to see us do that will help Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church "feel, know and share the love of Jesus Christ?" What would you like to see us do to nurture your spiritual life? Is there something specific you'd like to learn more about? What about a specific missional project you'd like the church to look into supporting? Would you like to go to Dollywood again on another intergenerational field trip? Please join us on Monday, March 2 at 6:00 pm in the sanctuary for a devotional and brainstorming event like no other. Things will wrap up by 7:30 pm, or whenever the Spirit leads us all to go home.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to participate in this meaningful way. God is working through all of us and we ask that you please pray for all the ways God continues to be at work in our collective ministry. Please speak with David or any of the elders on Missions, Faith Formation, or Congregational Family life to learn more.

This Sunday in Worship:
Second Sunday In Lent + March 1, 2026
| | |
Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church begins a new sermon series from the Gospel of John as we look for the light of Christ throughout the season of Lent and beyond. Things kick off with the familiar passage about Jesus and Nicodemus from John 3. This Pharisee questions what it means to be born from above, and Christ replies, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life." (John 3:16, NRSV)
Lent is a time of reflection, repentance, and renewal that gives us the time to look at things in the light of day, that we've only been willing to look at during the dark of night. What sacrifices are we being asked to make, so that all the world may see the light of God's love? How is God calling us to be reborn this Lent as we prepare for the coming of Jesus's death and Christ's resurrection? May we keep walking with our Lord throughout these forty days as we look for the Good News of God's grace and love.

Sunday's Scripture:
Romans 4:1-5, 13-17, NRSV
John 3:1-21, NRSV
Sermon Title:
"For God So Loved The World"

And remember about the recently announced
Rise Against Hunger event on April 12!
| | |
As part of our Lenten discipline, Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is scheduling another Rise Against Hunger meal packing event on Sunday, April 12! This is the perfect way for us to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord on the Second Sunday of Easter. After a short service at 10:00 am in the sanctuary, we will go down to the gym and work together to package meals to help those in need. We will pour in rice and other food items, seal the bags, pack them in boxes, and load them onto a truck. Our challenge is to pack 16,750 meals in two hours. There are many different ways to serve during this event, from sitting down to count supplies, all the way to standing up to pack boxes. Please come and help us be the hands and feet of Jesus to the world!
Donations are currently being accepted to support this international ministry. Our goal is to raise almost $7000 and any extra donations will go to address food insecurity here at home through the work of Meals on Wheels of Colonial Heights. Please speak with Karen Dale or any member of the Missions Committee to learn more about how you can help!

See You Sunday Night
For The Next Lenten Supper!
| | CHPC's Lenten Suppers continue this Sunday, March 1! All are welcome to join us down in the gym to share in a meal and study God's Word together. Children, youth, and adults enjoy their own special discussions after supper at 5:30 pm and wrap up by 6:30 pm. This week's lesson focuses on the passages of Maundy Thursday: Psalm 23, John 13:1-17, and Psalm 116. Sunday's supper will be a baked potato bar with all the fixings. Spread the word and please invite your friends to attend, because there is always more room around Christ's Table! | Volunteers are needed after worship to set up tables and chairs in the gym. Please speak with Elder Steve Healy on on Sunday if you can help! | |
  | Would You Like A New CHPC Shirt or Sweatshirt? | | |
This first round of the new Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church swag is almost sold out! The Youth Group worked hard last year to put together the design that reflects their view of our church family: compassionate, charitable, uplifting, and accepting. It's amazing to hear this from our youth and we hope everyone feels this way about our wonderful congregation!
March 15 is the deadline to order the next batch of swag with Tyler Paulsen. Short-sleeve shirts will be $25, youth shirt sizes $20, and sweatshirts will be $35. Any monies raised will go to support the youth ministry as they remind us all of how God looks at each beloved child of God.
