Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that

values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,

you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers, and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!

Celebrate the Season of Lent at CHPC!

All are welcome to join us on Sunday nights for four weeks during Lent for our Pop Up Suppers & Bible Study Series! Our time together will begin with fellowship and the sharing of a meal in the gym at 5:00 pm. Please note that March 23 and April 6 are pot lucks, so bring your favorite dish to share with our church family! Children will then split off to enjoy a time of music, a lesson, and some fun while the adults and youth have their own bible study from 5:30-6:30 pm. This year, we will be studying the story of Joshua as the Israelites come into the Promised Land, so come excited and ready to learn!

Get ready for a new Lenten spiritual practice this spring as members of CHPC exercise their hearts, minds, and souls each Saturday during Lent! All are welcome to participate in this yoga class offered at noon starting on March 9 at Vidya Yoga & Fitness in downtown Kingsport. This sixty minute instructor-lead, heated class will be paired with positive music and scripture readings to help participants lean into the reflective side of Lent. Speak with David or Tony to learn more and sign up today!

CHPC hosts a March Madness Ping-Pong Tournament throughout this upcoming Lenten season! The sign up sheet to participate is in the Church Office hallway. You can sign up for either the singles or doubles tournament by March 9 to be included in the bracket. The games will begin on Sunday, March 16. You will have a week to schedule and play your game with your opponent. Contact Tyler or David if you have any questions.

This Sunday in Worship: March 2, 2025

Transfiguration Sunday & Remembrance of Baptism

Come share the Peace of Christ with coffee and fellowship at 9:30 am in the parlor! Worship begins at 10:00 am in the Sanctuary. All are welcome to join us as we hear from Jeremiah about the New Covenant and collectively remember our baptisms. This Sunday's service involves all of God's children, regardless of age, so come ready to participate and even talk too. Worship may look a little different, but it’s important that we intentionally meet our Lord in new and meaningful ways that explore God's Good news.

Sunday's Scripture:

Jeremiah 17:5-10 & 31:31-34

Parents - Please note the children will be staying in the Sanctuary for this Service. The Nursery will be offered for our littlest Presbyterians.

The Women's Ministry Card-Making

Workshop Happens This Sunday Afternoon!

The Women’s Ministry at CHPC invites all ladies of the church to attend a Card-Making Workshop this Sunday, March 2 from 2-4 pm in the Café (off the gym). We will make four greeting cards and a folio for storing them—perfect to keep or gift to someone. The workshop will be led by our own friend Lisa Pecorini and the cost is $15. All supplies will be provided, but please bring your own pair of scissors. Contact Lisa Pecorini if you are interested.

And please consider joining us as we travel to Montreat, NC for the Women's Connection 2025 Conference! This conference is August 8th-10th at Montreat Conference Center. The cost is $247.00 and our friends at First Presbyterian Church Kingsport graciously allow us to stay free with them for the weekend. You must register online (do so as a commuter, we do not need rooms) and then please let Lisa Pecorini know that you have registered to go. Learn more about this great event here from Montreat's website. It's going to be a wonderful weekend of fellowship and worship!

The following day, CHPC holds our annual Ash Wednesday Service in the Sanctuary at 6:00 pm. All are welcome to participate in this most meaningful service as we give thanks to God for the gift of life, while also acknowledging our own mortality. Be sure to invite a friend to one or both of these meaningful gatherings!

Last Call for The Campus

Improvement Questionnaires

Since its founding in 1947, Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church has undergone significant facility changes to help empower the ministry of our congregation. We believe God is calling us to prepare for another change to ensure our facilities reflect the love and faithfulness of this church family as we seek to be the body of Christ in our community.

It's not too late to complete your survey about our current facilities and what valuable additions could help us sustain our shared ministry for years to come. It only takes five to ten minutes to complete and the committee greatly appreciates your input. The Campus Improvement Committee will meet this coming Sunday, March 2 to review all of the responses, so please be sure to fill yours out this week. And thank you all those who have taken the time to give this committee your valuable input!

If you have any additional comments or information you would like to share with the committee, please feel free to reach out to any member of the Campus Improvement Committee: Nathan Begue (Co-Chair), Al Doty (Co-Chair), Gretchen Bentley, Tammy Cox, Jonathan Hutchins, Marissa Paulsen, & David Randolph.
