| | Ministry Highlight: CHPC's Youth Group | | Summer is around the corner and our annual trip to the Montreat Youth Conference is approaching! The Montreat trip is an opportunity for rising 9th graders, high schoolers, and recent high school graduates to visit the campus of Montreat College for a week of spiritual growth and renewal. It can be a life changing event as students from all over the country come and gather for this awesome time of worship, learning, and fellowship. | |
This year, our trip will be later in the summer and we will be attending Week IV, from July 13-19. The plan is to leave from CHPC on the afternoon of Sunday July, 13 and we will arrive back at the church in the afternoon of Saturday July 19. Thanks to the fruitful ministry of the Pumpkin Patch, the session of has agreed to cover over half of the cost for students to attend this summer's trip! In total for housing, food, a conference t-shirt, and conference fees, the cost is $836 per student, which makes the price for individual students to go on this trip $400. The Youth Group will also be working on an additional fund raiser this spring to help raise more money for this trip--more info on this to come!
This is a wonderful way to enter into the youth group, so please contact Tyler Paulsen if you have any questions! We need to know by May 7 if your student (and maybe a friend too) is planning to attend. At that time, a $100 deposit is due and final payments are due by July 7. Please contact our Financial Administrator, Sarah Johnson, if you need help make those payments. It should be a terrific trip; Montreat is a wonderful opportunity to grow the spiritual lives of our young people!
| | And please don't forget that the youth's regular Sunday night Bible study returns in two weeks and that meals are needed to ensure these beloved individuals are fed, both physically and spiritually. Click below to sign up or reach out directly to Tyler Paulsen. | |
This Sunday in Worship: March 30, 2025
Fourth Sunday of Lent
| | Throughout the season of Lent, we walk with Christ through the Gospel of Luke, listening to the familiar parables of Jesus we love. Last Sunday, we discussed the joy God displays in both seeking and finding what is lost. As Pastor David preached, "God loves you so much that no matter where you might be: in the perils of the wilderness, or the protection of your own home, in the places you were expected to show up, or the unfamiliar spaces you ended up - When you are lost, God risks it all to find you!" This week, we glimpse the glory that can be seen through the eyes of a father welcoming the return of a lost son. What else is there for us to learn during this Lenten season from this final parable in Luke 15? Join us this Sunday as we return home in one way or another to worship the Lord our God. | |
Sunday's Scripture:
2 Corinthians 5:16-21, NRSV
Luke 15:11-32, NRSV
Sermon Title:
"This Better Be Good"

Click below to view last week's worship service. | | See You Sunday Night For The Next... | | CHPC continues to gather for the next two Sunday nights to enjoy a congregational supper and intergenerational bible study about the book of Joshua. Children will enjoy a time of music, a lesson, and some fun while the adults and youth have their own bible study from 5:30-6:30 pm. Last week, we discussed Joshua 2 and the important story of Rahab which acts as a counter to the Israelites imperative to remove others from the land the Lord has given to them. This coming Sunday's focus will be on Joshua 6 and the conclusion of the conquest of Jericho. Special thanks to the CFL committee for cooking this week's supper! | | March Madness is Heating Up in the... | | CHPC's March Madness Ping-Pong Tournament continues this week! Each round has one week to complete their game and turn their results into the staff. The finals will be played during the last Lenten Supper on April 6. Contact Tyler or David if you have any questions or are still interested in participating in this fellowship event! | |

The CHPC Easter Memorial Gifts program is for those who wish to give a memorial gift to honor or remember those special people who have been a part of our life. You may choose to give an Easter Lily that will be used to decorate the church or a monetary contribution to our Renovation Fund. Lilies are $12 and forms are available on the information table in the narthex. The order for these lilies must be returned by Monday, March 31. Any monetary contributions to the Renovation Fund should be given by April, 10.
Holy Week is on the way, so save the dates for special services on Palm Sunday (4/13 at 10:00 am), Maundy Thursday (4/17 at 7:30 pm), and Easter (4/20 at 10:00 am). The Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 9:00 am on Easter Sunday, April 20. This will include treat bags for the kids and finger foods for the entire church. Help is needed to make this tradition possible. The Congregation is encouraged to bring both sweet and savory items to share so we have a great balance for everyone to enjoy! Coffee and donuts will also be provided. Please sign up to bring your favorite Easter Snack in the Narthex. We appreciate your help in making this an egg-cellent time for all!

Learn more about this great event here from Montreat's website and register here. It's going to be a wonderful weekend of fellowship and worship!
