Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that

values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,

you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers,

and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!

Sign Up for Wacky Wonderful Wednesdays!

CHPC invites all our children and their friends to join us this summer during our Wacky & Wonderful Wednesdays!!! This will be a weekly summer program for children that will run every Wednesday throughout the month of June. This summer series of events are open to all children from the age of four through rising fifth graders. These are totally free events that will include a meal, games, crafts, music, and faith-based lessons. Drop off is at 5:30 pm and pick up is at 8:00 pm.

Our theme for the month of June will be to learn more about What Every Living Thing Needs! We are going to talk about how we all need the basics: like air, water, and food. But we are also going to talk about our other needs: such as community, kindness, and compassion. And how we as Christ followers should play a role in showing and sharing these needs with those around us. Our aim this summer as a church is to teach children about these needs by showing and sharing them every week on Wednesday nights in June!

We hope you will make plans to join us this summer! You may register online by clicking the above button. Volunteers may also reach out to Tyler to sign up to serve. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Tyler or anyone on the Faith Formation Committee. Please spread the word throughout our community so others may know of this wacky and wonderful ministry of our church family!

Schedule Adjustment For Saturday's Workshop

This Saturday's "A Good Death" Workshop will not be offered at this time. Participants who signed up have been notified and prepared packets will be available to continue the conversation another time. Please reach out directly to David if you would like to speak about this important topic. Thank you for gracefully adjusting to this change of schedule.

This Sunday in Worship:

Seventh Sunday of Easter + May 17, 2026

For the next four weeks, Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church continues to turn to familiar passages of scripture to remind ourselves of all the good God is doing in the midst of this family of faith. Last week, our own Elder Karen Bennett preached about the value of "compassion" and how this gift gracefully empowers our shared ministry. This week, Pastor David looks to the value of "charitable" as we wonder together how the Body of Christ might behave in a similar way to the Lord our God. What Good News is there for us all in the fact that God is charitable? How might we put that same grace into action as a church family? All are welcome to worship with us as we look to the blessing of God's Word found in the Matthew's Sermon on the Mount.

Sunday's Scriptures:

Matthew 5:33-42, NRSV

Matthew 6:1-14, NRSV

Sermon Title:

"Charity: Grace in Action"

The flowers in the Sanctuary are given to the glory of God in memory of Jim Fischer by Carlos, Scarlett, Ale, Joshua, Juliett and Mary.

The Session has called a congregational meeting after worship on Sunday, May 17 for the purpose of dissolving the Pastor’s terms of call effective May 31, 2026.

All children are welcome in worship this week and have a special time together down front after the prayer of confession. Kiddos are welcome to enjoy “Children's Church” downstairs during the sermon and may be picked up in the Children’s Connection room after worship concludes.

The Children's Choir practices this week after worship at 11:15 am. All children ages 3-11 are welcome to come sing and play! Please contact Jean Fletcher or Laura Wicker for details or to learn how to get involved. Parents - please note the kiddos have a special role to play in worship on May 24.

CHPC's "Kids Club" continues after choir practice in the Children's Connection Room while their adults participate in Sunday School until noon. Please speak with Tyler if your child plans to attend and keep spreading the word about this wonderful church activity for our kiddos!

Adult Sunday School Classes combine into one class with David about the Sermon on the Mount after worship at 11:15 am in room 218. All are welcome to this intergenerational discussion about the greatest sermon of all time. Please speak with David to learn more about this class or how you can get further involved in various adult discipleship opportunities in the future.

Giving Thanks For David's Ministry With CHPC

For five years, David Randolph has faithfully led our congregation with compassion, kindness, humility, patience and love. In those five years, he rejoiced with us, wept with us, grew with us, and empowered us to do the work of the Kingdom. For this, and for so much more, our church family will forever be grateful. As we prepare to say our goodbyes, your Session invites you to join us in honoring David with a love offering, that, at his request, will be given to the Legacy of Faith Fund. This invested fund was created in 2025 for the long term benefit of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church. More information about the Legacy of Faith Fund is available below and any member of Session would be happy to tell you more about how it will help sustain our church ministry for years to come. Any gifts or future commitments can be made to the church anytime between now and May 31st. You may also use this link here to give online directly to the Legacy of Faith Fund.
