This past weekend's Youth Sunday was such an amazing service! Thank you to everyone who showed their support by cheering on this terrific group as they shared the Word of God with our church family about how uplifting the Body of Christ is called to be. It meant a great deal to see so many people here at the church, and we are grateful for the many ways our congregation continues to shower our youth with love and support. Most of all, thank you to all of the young people who help to lead us in this special worship service! Whether they led us in liturgy, offered a reading, or shared a senior reflection; all of our youth did such a fantastic job! What a blessing it is to see the Holy Spirit at work on Pentecost within the lives of our young people.

We are so proud of all of our graduates and cannot wait to see how God continues to be at work in your life! May God bless you in all your future endeavors as you continue to serve the Lord!

For the last four weeks, Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church has looked to passages from the Sermon on the Mount to remind ourselves of the values embodied in this church family. CHPC is a community that is Compassionate, Charitable, Uplifting, and Accepting. That last word is our focus this week as our pastor steps into the pulpit one more time to share the Good News of God's Love seen in the Body of Christ. It is a gift of grace bestowed upon every beloved child of God regardless of any worldly distinctions. What might the "Golden Rule" have to teach us about being accepting of others? How might Paul's letter to the Galatians change our world view about what it means to be uplifting, charitable, and compassionate? All are welcome to worship with us this Trinity Sunday as we look to the blessing of God's Word for all the world.

For five years, David Randolph has faithfully led our congregation with compassion, kindness, humility, patience and love. In those five years, he rejoiced with us, wept with us, grew with us, and empowered us to do the work of the Kingdom. For this, and for so much more, our church family will forever be grateful. As we prepare to say our goodbyes this Sunday in worship, your Session invites you to join us in honoring David with a love offering, that, at his request, will be given to the Legacy of Faith Fund. This invested fund was created in 2025 for the long term benefit of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church. As some already know, our Office Admin and dear friend Mary Ellington plans to retire later this year. Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is beyond grateful for all the good work Mary has and continues to do on our behalf. We look forward to supporting Mary during this transition as she decreases her responsibilities slowly over the summer before officially stepping away after four years of faithful service at a yet to be determined date.

To that end, your leadership has been prayerfully discerning who might be led by our Lord to step into Mary's high heels and we are overjoyed to introduce the church's new Office Administrator, Nicole Perrotta, who will continue to support each ministry of our church family. Nicole's primary responsibilities are in the areas of: General Administration, Church Communication, and Property Coordination. Learn more about our new staff member below and please stop by the office the week of June 8 to welcome her properly. Nicole will work out of the Office Administrator's workspace and Mary will be moving into the Pastor's Study as she continues to serve in various ways. Please note that Nicole's email address will be "office@chpres.org" and Mary's new email address is "Mary@chpres.org". The Session will continue to share more information about this transition as staff settle into their new roles. Your leadership is grateful for the congregation's support as we faithfully navigate this season of change while still maintaining our ministry to glorify God in worship, discipleship, and mission. Hello everyone! My name is Nicole; I am excited to join the team as the new Office Administrator at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church. With over 15 years of experience as an office administrative, communications and organization skills. I am passionate about supporting our ministries and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. I have two wonderful daughters Dannia and Emma, and Blue Bear, our dog and three lovely kitty cats Elsa, Mittens, and Serenity. When I am not at my desk, you can find me cooking, gardening, and spending time with my family and friends. Please stop by the office and say hello I look forward to meeting you all!

CHPC invites all our children and their friends to join us this summer during our Wacky & Wonderful Wednesdays!!! This will be a weekly summer program for children that will run every Wednesday throughout the month of June. This summer series of events are open to all children from the age of four through rising fifth graders. These are totally free events that will include a meal, games, crafts, music, and faith-based lessons. Drop off is at 5:30 pm and pick up is at 8:00 pm.

Our theme for the month of June will be to learn more about What Every Living Thing Needs! We are going to talk about how we all need the basics: like air, water, and food. But we are also going to talk about our other needs: such as community, kindness, and compassion. And how we as Christ followers should play a role in showing and sharing these needs with those around us. Our aim this summer as a church is to teach children about these needs by showing and sharing them every week on Wednesday nights in June!

On Monday, June 8, CHPC hosts the youth choir from Lakewood Church in Jacksonville, Florida. For over 40 years, it has been a rite of passage for their youth to be a part of this annual trip, and they have traveled to 49 of the 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, and The Bahamas. This year, the Lakewood youth choir will be coming through our area as they travel the southeast performing for different audiences, sharing the word of God and having some fun along the way! Please join us in the Sanctuary at 6:00 pm on Monday, June 8 to support them as they share their choir performance with us. Spread the word and contact Shelby Ratchford with any questions.

We give thanks to God for the gift of celebrating Philip Cole's baptism this past Sunday in worship! What a joy it is to celebrate the gift of God's grace with this beloved child of God and all his wonderful family! Please make sure to speak with Philip, Skyler, Cheyanne, Bonnie, and Dan as we continue to give thanks !

The Flowers in the Sanctuary are given to the Glory of God in gratitude for Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church by David, Katherine, Cragon, Betsy and Andrew Randolph.

All children are welcome in worship this week and have a special time together down front after the prayer of confession. Kiddos are welcome to enjoy “Children's Church” downstairs during the sermon and will return to the Sanctuary to celebrate communion with the congregation.

Adult Sunday School Classes resume on Sunday, June 7 after worship at 11:15 am. The Disciples' Class meets in room 218 and the Remnant meets in room 221. All are welcome to participate in either of the lively discussions. Please speak with any member of the Faith Formation Committee to learn more about how to get involved!

The Youth Group takes a break this weekend and will resume regular bible study on Sunday, June 7 at 5:00 pm. Please contact Tyler with any questions about this wonderful group or how you can support this meaningful ministry.

The Children’s Choir takes a break throughout the summer months and returns in August to make a joyful noise! Please contact Jean Fletcher or Laura Wicker if your little one is excited to sing this fall.

School is out and CHPC's Blessing Box is a vital lifeline to our neighbors facing food insecurity. To keep this little pantry stocked, please consider donating directly in the box at the street, located directly in front of the Jones Building or in the basket located in the Narthex. Suggested items are any non-perishable foods or essential hygiene items. A suggestion list is located in the collection basket in the Narthex. Thank you for your continued caring for this community!

In Worship on Sunday, July 5, CHPC will be celebrating through song and the worship committee would love to know your favorite hymns and praise songs to use during that special service. These suggestions may also be used throughout the Summer so please share all your favorites with us! A box in the narthex for you to leave your suggestions or you can email them to elder Karen Bennett. Thank you for helping us to make a joyful noise!
