Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that

values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,

you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers,

and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!

Serving as the Hands and Feet of Christ!

It was a great weekend for mission at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church. Check out a few special highlights below to see how you can serve as the hands and feet of Christ in our community. Please reach out to any member of the Mission Committee to learn more or to suggest an idea for future support.

20 years ago, Kitchen of Hope was founded with $169 and a vision to address hunger in the Kingsport community. It continues to operate 6 days a week providing approximately 34,000 meals annually. CHPC participates in this ministry on the third Friday of each and every month. It takes approximately 5-6 hours to prepare and serve the meals. Last Friday, we served around 175 meals in a few hours. If this is a mission you would be interested in participating in, please contact Gretchen Bentley.

Members of our church family had a wonderful time building beds this past Saturday morning with our friends from Sleep in Heavenly Peace of Sullivan County! Big thank you to all the volunteers who helped retrieve, deliver, cut, sand, drill, hammer, screw, stain, brand, and assemble 30 beds for children in our community. That is 60 headboards, 60 side rails, and 270 slates! Check out more pictures on Facebook to see for yourself how it all comes together.

Would you be willing to help deliver and assemble these beds sometime during the future? Please reach out to Allen Booth if you are able to help make sure these beds make it the final mile to a child in need.

On Sunday during worship, we learned about a new ministry called "Care Portal". Care Portal is a tool that helps churchs address individual’s need throughout the community that we might never have known existed, be it a bed for a child who doesn't have one, a washing machine to clean clothes, or help with the completion of a necessary home project. Click here to see for yourself the impact the church can make through this connected ministry. A future training event will be held for any interested individual who would like to know more about how this system works and how our church may best get the word out to meet needs that may exist in Sullivan County. Please contact Allen Booth to sign up or speak with any member of the Missions Committee to learn more.

This Sunday in Worship:

June 29, 2025 - Third Sunday After Pentecost

At the beginning of Acts, Jesus says to the Disciples, "you will be my witnesses." (Acts 1:8) Even with the help of the Holy Spirit, being Christ's witness is not an easy task. It is a counter-cultural action that requires courage, commitment, and conviction that is not always well received by the powers of this world. This week's passage about Stephen serves as an example for all of us who seek to faithfully walk in Christ's footsteps. What do we notice differently about the Cross of Christ now that it is illuminated by the light of Pentecost? How is the newly empowered Church called to serve and sacrifice like our Savior? Join us this week in worship as we faithfully discern what it means to be "Christ's Witness".

Sunday's Scripture:

Acts 6:8-15, NRSV

Acts 7:1-2 a, 52-60, NRSV

Sermon Title:

"ACTing Out: Christ's Witness"
