Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that

values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,

you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers,

and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!

Greetings From Montreat!

We are halfway through our trip, and it is going so, so great! The youth are having a blast and we are soaking up all that this year's conference has to offer - from main sessions, to small groups, to afternoon recreation, and especially our time of relaxation together with a plethora of card games provided by Mrs. Gretchen! This year's theme is "Light My Path" and we are learning so much about what it means to walk in the light, to not fear the dark, and to even redeem the dark because God is still with us even in the midst of dark times! Thanks to Montreat Conference Center for putting on such an amazing week for us and we look forward to the second half of the trip!

Please continue to pray for this wonderful group over the next two days, that God's Spirit surrounds them with peace, enriches their experience with joy, and strengthens them with hope so that each one may recognize the light of love our Lord shines on their paths.

This Sunday in Worship:

July 20, 2025 - Sixth Sunday After Pentecost

Throughout these past few chapters in the Book of Acts, God has been at work expanding the boundary markers of just who is included in the Church of Jesus Christ. First it was those closest to Jesus; then it was those Jews who heard of his resurrection and believed; next it was other God-fearers: the Ethiopian Eunuch who took this Good News back home; and now the Holy Spirit makes another giant leap forward to fully welcome the Gentiles into the family of faith. This week's story introduces us to a Roman Centurion named Cornelius who connects with the Apostle Peter and helps transform this disciple, much like the Apostle Paul on the Damascus road after meeting Ananias. What lessons do we have to learn from this story about double visions? All are welcome to join us this Sunday as we focus on the love of God that brings us together in the Body of Christ.

Sunday's Scripture:

Acts 10:1-33, NRSV

Sermon Title: "ACTing Out:

Double Vision"

Reminder about Sunday's Lunch & Learn

A lunch and learn about the Care Portal Ministry will happen this Sunday after worship downstairs in the youth room for those who signed up. We have almost 35 people signed up for this event and are offering a second training for others who are still interested on August 17. This make up event will cover the same material as this Sunday's and will include a lunch after worship as well. You can sign up by speaking with Allen Booth or David Randolph.

Thank you for making missions a priority for our church family and being willing to find ways, big or small, to serve our neighbors in need. Want to know more about this thing everyone keeps calling the "Care Portal? Click here to see for yourself the impact we can make through this connectional ministry as we work to fulfill requests from local school guidance counselors or social workers to help families with children who have various needs. May God's Spirit continue to guide us to be the hands and feet of Christ in God's world.

Make Sure to Save These Dates!

Supporting CHPC's Blessing Box

With schools out of session for the summer, yours Missions Committee would like to highlight awareness to the fact that many children in our area struggle with food insecurities that were previously alleviated by free school meals. With that in mind, please help us meet this need during our "Drive By Giving at the Blessing Box" this summer. Stop by anytime, 24/7 or if it better suits you, drop off donations in the basket located in the Narthex.

Please continue to pray for this ministry and for all those who offer or receive from it. Thank you so much from the Mission Committee for generously supporting the Blessing Box both with physical and monetary donations, like Cents-ability! If you would like the expired food list emailed to you, if you have any questions, or want to know more ways you can support this important ministry, contact Brenda Clark.
