Another Wonderful Montreat

Youth Conference is in the Books!

We are home from Montreat, NC, we have come back down from the top of the mountain top, and we are (mostly) recovered from a full week of the Montreat Youth Conference! This year's conference was such a blast, we doubled the size of our group from previous years and introduced four new students to the wonders of a week at Montreat. We enjoyed five full days jam-packed with fun, worship, prayer, discussions, sermons, delicious meals, and terrific game time. It is safe to say that everyone had a really good experience, it was enriching for the whole gang that we got to spend that amount of quality time together as a youth group.

The theme of the week was "Light My Path" and we learned so much about what it means to walk in the light, to not fear the dark, and to even redeem the dark because God is still with us even in the midst of dark times! The biggest takeaway from the week for me was that as a child of God, it doesn't take one hero to save the day or one huge light to illuminate the world. Instead, it takes many normal people working together, going in the same direction to create a movement that changes the world. And it takes all of us to act as mirrors, all reflecting the light of Christ to those around us that truly brightens the lives of everyone. And so as we transition into the new school year, my hope is that this summer's trip to Montreat will bring new energy into our youth group, and that we together will find new ways to reflect the light of Christ into the world!

Grace and peace,

-Tyler Paulsen

Mid-Summer Kids-Night Celebration!

Two Fridays ago, our Children's Ministry held a Mid-Summer Kids-Night and we had a total blast. This event was a fun evening of pizza, popcorn, pipers, songs, games, crafts, and psalms! We looked at Psalm 139 and discovered that God made each and every one of us special, unique, and one of a kind! We spent time celebrating all of the different things that make us who are are! And we learned that God celebrates who we are just as much as we do! Thanks to all of the kids who came and enjoyed this evening of fun and fellowship! We hope all those parents and caretakers who dropped off these kids were able to enjoy a restful evening! And of course, a special thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers who came, donated a Friday evening, and ensured this event was safe and successful!!!

Make Sure to Save These Dates!

Supporting CHPC's Blessing Box

With schools out of session for the summer, yours Missions Committee would like to highlight awareness to the fact that many children in our area struggle with food insecurities that were previously alleviated by free school meals. With that in mind, please help us meet this need during our "Drive By Giving at the Blessing Box" this summer. Stop by anytime, 24/7 or if it better suits you, drop off donations in the basket located in the Narthex.

Please continue to pray for this ministry and for all those who offer or receive from it. Thank you so much from the Mission Committee for generously supporting the Blessing Box both with physical and monetary donations, like Cents-ability! If you would like the expired food list emailed to you, if you have any questions, or want to know more ways you can support this important ministry, contact Brenda Clark.
