Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church is a congregation that

values a diversity of belief. Whether you're full of faith or full of doubt,

you'll find people who have been there and accept you for where you are.

We welcome all people to worship, pray, eat, seek spiritual answers,

and enjoy life within this community of faith. All are welcome!

All Are Welcome at Christ's Table!

Please note, all children will be welcome in the sanctuary and this service will not be live streamed.

Maundy Thursday, the Thursday before Easter, takes its name

from the Latin “mandatum” which refers to the new commandment

Jesus gave his disciples to love one another. Jesus said, “Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know

you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

We gather this Thursday, April 17 at 7:30 pm in the Sanctuary to celebrate communion with Jesus and his disciples on this special night, before hearing again the powerful story of Christ's betrayal, crucifixion, and burial during a Service of Tenebrae. May God's Holy Spirit strengthen us all as we journey through the darkness between the Last Supper and the closed tomb.

This Sunday in Worship:

We invite you to participate in these three movements on Easter morning as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord! We will begin with a 30-minute Sunrise Service at 8:15 am centered around the communion table. This will be held outside by the Oak Tree. Our Easter egg hunt follows shortly thereafter outside in the same courtyard at 9:00 am. Children can enjoy two rounds of egg hunting and candy, and adults can enjoy coffee and donuts!

Finally, our Easter Sunday worship service will be held in the Sanctuary at 10:00 am. Children are welcome in worship and have a special time together down front after the prayer of confession. All children may enjoy “Children’s Church” downstairs during the sermon and will return to the sanctuary to receive communion. Spread the word and invite your family and friends as we give thanks for the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ!

Isaiah 25:6-9, NRSV

Romans 6:3-11, NRSV

John 20:1-18, NRSV

Please be advised that there is a phishing email involving someone pretending to be a church members and asking members of our congregation for help purchasing gift cards. This is a scam. While this is a caring, generous, and faithful congregation, there is never a time when someone from our church would need gifts cards in this manner. Please do not respond to any fraudulent email you may have received. Contact the church office should you ever have any questions about any church communication.

All items for the weekly online newsletter should be emailed to Mary at office@chpres.org by the end of the day on Tuesdays.
