The incredible musical talent of Dr. Stephen Main combines with the magical video skill of Michael Barber to produce a virtual Christmas delight. So get a glass of wine, a cup of tea or a mug of eggnog. Gather your family and enjoy a performance that will fill your heart with Christmas joy.

The concert airs On Our Website, and on our YouTube Channel on Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6 at 8 PM.

Serenity Prayer Class Begins Sunday
A Three-Session Class with Rev. Jeff Kunkel

December 6, 13 and 20, 5 - 6 pm

The Serenity Prayer, first written in the 20th century, has become one of the most popular prayers for Christians and those of other faiths. The prayer is at its best when it is USED as a spiritual tool in discernment.

Participants will learn the background of the prayer, memorize the prayer, and practice ways to use the prayer to reckon with confusion, resentment, stress, loss, and joy.

Session 1: "Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change..."
Session 2: "The courage to change the things I can..."
Session 3: "The wisdom to know the difference."

Courtyard Christmas Tree

Beginning this Saturday, December 5, you can help decorate the Piedmont Church Christmas tree. You are invited to come to the courtyard as an individual, or with your family. Bring an ornament to hang on the tree, or just admire the view.

Please wear a mask and be mindful of keeping a safe distance from others. The tree will be located on the landing next to the sanctuary. It comes to us courtesy of the Piedmont Scout Council.
Online Christmas Party

Inviting all adults to join our Christmas Zoom gathering on Saturday, December 12, 5:30 to 6:30pm. Wear your Christmas garb and have your chosen libation close at hand as we gather together to celebrate, as best we can, while continuing to safely shelter-in.

Initially, we will meet all together as a group on Zoom and then divide into breakout rooms with a smaller group. During this time, we are hoping you will think about and share your:

  - Unique Christmas traditions
  - Most memorable childhood Christmas
  - Most meaningful Christmas event
  - Most embarrassing Christmas incident

We have missed seeing each other and this is a great opportunity for us to meet new friends and greet old friends, so mark your calendar and set your alarm, whatever it takes to remind you to join us for this fun fellowship hour.

CHILDREN & YOUTH
Children’s Interactive Christmas Pageant

We are hosting an interactive Christmas pageant for children. We will be narrating the pageant while the children are directed to dress in costumes and sing along.

This is meant to be a joyful informal event for children. Have your children log into zoom at 4pm on Sunday December 13.

More information will be emailed out to Sunday school parents. Contact Leslie at [email protected]
Welcome to our Sunday school program, Digging into Foundations of Faith.

We will be learning what it means to be a Christian. We will explore what the Bible reveals about who God is and how God sees us, how we fit in God’s family, and how we live the Christian life. As we study core concepts of Christianity, we will gain a solid framework for our own relationship with Jesus.

Some of the lessons include: Moses and the Burning Bush (Exodus 3:1-4:17), God Tells Job About His Creation (Job 38-39; Psalm 8), and Jesus Feeds 5,000 (Matthew 14:13-21).

Please look for the links to weekly lessons in The Messenger and in Leslie's weekly emails.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
Alternative Gift Market Is Online

Make a real difference in the world this Christmas. This year, shop the Alternative Gift Market online to help alleviate the daily struggles of those in our community and abroad.

One hundred percent of your gift will go to the ministries you choose to support.

When you purchase this gift in someone’s honor, you can receive a descriptive insert that can be placed into a card to let the person know what you have purchased in their name.

Thank You for Making a Difference!
Adopt-A-Child Success

We received a list of 35 children and matched each with a church donor. Thank you to all who participated. Although Cityteam’s program was a little different this year (in previous years we could adopt a family), they’re grateful for the support and certainly happy for additional financial support.
