CHRiS Mascot

Dear Campus Community,

Thank you to everyone who has attended our recent CHRS webinars. We’ve had strong engagement and thoughtful questions, and we truly appreciate the time you’ve taken to prepare for this transition.

If you are a Timekeeper or Approver, you have been invited to one final webinar on Wednesday, February 25 at 10:00 AM, where we will review payroll deadlines and important approval changes in more detail.

If you were unable to attend a session - or would like to revisit the information - webinar recordings, PowerPoint slides, and Q&A documents are available on the CHRS website. If you do not see a specific webinar posted yet, we are finalizing edits and materials before publishing. Please check back at the end of the week.

Important Go-Live Update

While CHRS will move to production on March 23, it will not be accessible to campus users at that time.

CHRS will officially open to campus users on Wednesday, March 25 at 8:00 AM.

This brief delay allows our internal team time to review audit reports, correct any data issues, and ensure information transferred accurately before opening access to campus users. This adjustment does not impact payroll cutoffs.

Major Change: Approval Routing in CHRS

checkmarks

Approval routing in CHRS will follow the formal “Reports To” structure in the system.

  • Absence Management and Time & Labor approvals will route directly to the employee’s designated “Reports To” manager.

  • Managers with a “Reports To” relationship will automatically receive the appropriate approver roles.

  • Standing alternate approver workarounds used in PeopleSoft will no longer apply in CHRS.

  • Delegation (proxy access) is limited and temporary, intended only for specific situations such as a leave of absence or extended absence.

Managers are expected to directly approve requests.

We will review this change in more detail during Wednesday’s webinar for Timekeepers and Approvers.

Critical Payroll & System Deadlines

deadline is coming

Please review the following important dates carefully:

  • February 28Final day for Student Employees to enter time for the February pay period.

  • March 1All March time reporting and absence entries pause in PeopleSoft. Entries made March 1–23 will not transfer to CHRS and must be manually tracked.

  • March 5 Final day to enter and approve all February and prior time/absences in PeopleSoft. Employee Self-Service access pauses.

  • March 17 (3:00 PM)Full PeopleSoft system outage begins.

  • March 25 (8:00 AM)CHRS opens to campus users.

  • April 1Final deadline to enter and approve all March absences in CHRS.

  • April 5Final deadline to enter and approve payable time (including students, hourly, overtime, and shift differentials) for the March period.

Timekeepers will receive calendar invitations to support these payroll deadlines and help ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.

Important Note for Timekeepers & Approvers

If you serve in an approval role, your timely review and action will be critical during the March 25 – April 5 transition period. Please plan dedicated time to review and approve transactions to avoid payroll delays.
