CHS teacher selected Region II Director of National Spanish Honor Society

A Carrollton High School Spanish teacher has been selected as the Region II director of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica (National Honor Society). Dr. Emily Townson will serve a three-year term on the honor society's advisory board.

CUES STEM students have hands-on learning thanks to Apollo Occupational Health

Last week, Apollo Occupational Health spent time with STEM students at Carrollton Upper Elementary School. Students are exploring the science behind sports medicine and were able to practice wrapping common sports-related injuries.

CHS Trojan Band creates magic for young Trojans

Last week, Carrollton Elementary School students were treated to a special concert by the Carrollton High School Trojan Band, which included popular Disney hits as well as some football season favorites. CHS Band Director Chris Carr said the experience was inspiring. "I am so proud that our band students are interested in investing in each other and also in those around them," he said. "Hearing our elementary students singing along to some of their favorite songs was energizing."

CJHS eighth grader reaches literary goal

At the beginning of 2022, Carrollton Junior High eighth grader Mia Chapman set a goal to read 365 books in 365 days. Mia accomplished her goal and has set a new one for 2023 — "I want to read 500 books this year," she said. CJHS has a tradition of 'Drop Everything and Read’ days that Principal Travis Thomaston began as a way to encourage reading amongst staff and students. The DEAR Days project illustrates the school's commitment to reading which aligns with the district's broader literacy initiative.
