Preparing for Sunday ( Lectors & Intercessor )
Find the lessons appointed for Sunday
Sunday's readings bring us face to face with the intricate balance of God’s judgment and God’s mercy. In Genesis (Track 1), God affirms his faithfulness to Abraham. Jeremiah (Track 2) challenges his hearers to confront the discomfort of God’s judgment. Paul reminds the Roman community that their baptism was a death to sin and they now have a choice to live for God. In the gospel, Jesus reminds us that the response given to his disciples is also a response to him.
Don't fall for it!
Some people just have too much time on their hands and then spend it to victimize others. Another round of phishing/whaling just hit CHS this week. We can't make scams go away. The best we can hope for is that you educate yourself so that you don't become a victim and that you take the steps to report and defeat fraud. What's going on in Hunterdon County?
The Hunterdon Report - is an e-newsletter from Hunterdon County. The Hunterdon County Board of Chosen Freeholders believes it is important to keep residents apprised of the actions of the County government. If you are interested in being added to the mailing list for The Hunterdon Report and The Morning Report, fill out the form linked on their webpage.
Thank you for continuing your support!
The Bill Board is back
This pandemic has affected our general finances. There are three impacted sources of church revenue that we want to make you aware of:
  • The loss of the Loose Plate offering will likely create a $2,000 shortfall.
  • Not being able to hold our Cinco de Mayo Auction last month has created a $22,000 budget gap,
  • Building use rental income is already down by $3,500, and we anticipate this gap will grow further.

To help with this shortfall, we have resurrected the CHS Bill-Board in virtual form. If you feel called to help cover any of these church bills,
please note “Bill-Board” on the Instructions line for your PayPal transaction or the Memo line of your check or giving envelope.
