Preparing for Sunday
Find the lessons appointed for Sunday here >
Sunday's readings challenge us to become examples to draw others to Christ. Isaiah declares that the way to healing begins with generosity and justice. Paul proclaims nothing but the crucified Christ. Jesus describes the true righteousness that brings glory to our Father in heaven.

Alexei's Groupies - Deadline looms!
Did you know that Alexei Tartakovsky, our very own director of music, is working to complete his PhD. at CUNY? He has a recital pending in New York as part of his degree requirement. Here’s an opportunity to hear him play in a concert setting. Admission is free. Jane and Jeff Anderson have reserved a bus from CHS to the concert hall and return — for only $35 per person. The catch? We must guarantee at least 35 of the 55 bus seats to reserve the CHS music bus. (Can we fill every seat?? — bring friends!) Availability is on a first-come, first-served basis. Meet at CHS for a 3:30 pm departure. Alexei’s recital is at City University’s Elebash Recital Hall, 365 Fifth Avenue (at 34th Street). The Recital begins at 6:00 pm with a reception to follow. We will leave for home by 8:45 pm.

To reserve your seat, please call or email Jeff or Jane Anderson at 439-2532 or prior to Friday, 2/7. Cost per person is $35.00. Checks should be made out to Church of the Holy Spirit and are due no later than Sunday February 9th. If we meet the minimum of 35 on 2/9 we go; otherwise all checks will be returned and the bus cancelled. Additionally, if we meet the minimum, there will be 20 remaining seats and reservations will continue to be accepted, along with check, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Drivers for Father Phil
I am lining up drivers to chauffeur Father Phil on the remaining House Blessing routes. From 4:30 - 7:30 pm on the following Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: February 11,12, 13, 19, and 20. Please contact me if you can help at or 908-420-3613.
It’s a great opportunity for uninterrupted one-on-one time with your priest and perhaps a chance to explore some of the county that you haven’t seen before!

Keller Sacristy Dedication
The Keller Sacristy will be dedicated on February 8th at 10:00 am. Please join me, my family and friends for this special event. I hope you can join us for the brief dedication service on February 8th. If you have not seen the lovely space created by Gary Scott, Jim West, George Landgraf, Hal Murray, Rex VanVeldhuisen and Rich Southwick, please do stop in to see their wonderful gift of time and talent on Jim’s behalf. The Keller family is most grateful.
Sunday, February 9 will be Breakfast Sunday!
The youth group will be putting on breakfast between the services at 9am. All young people are urged to help out in the kitchen at 8am. Donations of baked goods are welcome.A sign up genius went out for specific needs, and people can always contact Julie Stine for details.
Mirota House 3rd Annual Luncheon: February 15th
Mirota House luncheon has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 15, 2020 from Noon to 1:30 P.M. The theme will be Valentine's Day and everyone is invited to attend. This is a great opportunity to exercise our CHS message statement: to follow Christ as we serve others, profess God's love and grow in the spirit.
Please look for the sign-up list in the Narthex for needed baked items or if you wish, a cash donation for necessary purchases.
Any questions? Please talk to or call Jeff and Jane Anderson at 908-439-2532.
