What's Happening at CHS?

Giving Opportunity: Easter Flower Donations

Would you like to contribute to the beautification of the sanctuary for the Easter season? Easter is also a wonderful time to make a memorial donation to the Easter Flower Fund; either in thanksgiving for or in loving memory of a loved one.

Donations (suggested $40) can be made until Sunday, April 13 to ensure the names of the people for whom the donation is being made are included in the Easter Services bulletin. You can make your donation via the church website or by dropping an envelope in the lock box outside the church office. Easter flower donation envelopes are on the table in the Narthex. Please identify the following for your donation:

  • The name(s) for whom the donation is being made
  • Whether the donation is a memorial or in thanksgiving

Flemington Food Pantry Baby & Birthday Bag Drive

The teens of the CHS Youth Group will be collecting donations of items and funds in order to contribute special stuffed gift bags to the pantry. On Sundays during Lent, you can either donate via the PayPal link with Baby & Birthday Bags option chosen or you can take a tag from our displays in the narthex. Take the reminder tag and write your name on the sign up tag and leave it at the table. Please return items to the table by Sunday April 13th and thank you so much for your generosity. Questions to Jane Anderson or Lily Wyglendowski. wyglos@gmail.com

Old CHS books need a New Home!

To create more space in the St. Martin Room we are offering parishioners the chance to take books home and help us empty the shelves. Please stop by the St. Martin room between now and April 13th and take one or more books to add to your personal collection. St Martin is the room across from the office. After Sunday April 13 the remaining books will be sold to a bookseller or properly disposed of, and we will create additional seating in the St. Martin Room.

Bagels & Books

We've decided to read, "Being Mortal," by Atul Gawande. first, and then "Elephant Company," second. Unfortunately, the library's book kits still are not available. With this in mind, we will each have to obtain our own copy of this book. However, there are two copies available at the North Hunterdon County Branch. If you're having difficulty getting a copy, let me know, and I'll find one for you. Right now, we will plan on reading "Being Mortal," and, hopefully, having a meeting in about 6 weeks (following Easter). (Being Mortal is available on Libby as both an ebook and an audio book)

Kind regards,

Suzanne Higgins

Regularly Scheduled Activities

What is the Bill Board?

This is an opportunity for parishioners to help offset our expenses for 2025. Please look in the Narthex for the tri-fold board with various "bills" on it. Select one that you can help out with, place it in the envelope provided, and either put it in the collection plate or mail it to the church. Another option to donate is through Paypal using the Bill Board Button on the Giving web page. https://www.churchholyspirit.org/giving-st-chs.html

If every family could select one "bill" , it would help us with our expenses for this year. Any questions, please reach out to the treasurer at sally.bird@churchholyspirit.net.
