Summer Notes:

Mother Kim will be on vacation from Monday, June 29 until July 14. If you have any pastoral needs while Mother Kim is away, please contact Diane Hrozencik who will coordinate emergency needs.

Even while some of us are on vacation, our church expenses continue. The Vestry and Finance Committee thank everyone for their ongoing support of CHS. Please remember to contribute towards your annual pledge in the summer months. If you aren’t here in person, electronic payments are accepted through our website. Thank you for your continued support of the congregation's life, ministry, and mission, which occur year-round.

Thank you. Sally Bird, Treasurer

Bagels & Books - West with Giraffes

We will be meeting July 12, following the 10 am service, in the St. Martin's room, to discuss, "West With Giraffes." I hope you enjoyed this book as much as I did!! Also, PLEASE bring your copy of the book by then so I can return the kit. I should be able to distribute, "Remarkably Bright Creatures," July 12, which is our next selection.

Kind regards,

Suzanne Higgins

Stewardship

The stewardship team - co-led by Mary and Gary Scott- invites all members of the congregation to submit photographs from the first 60 years of The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit. For our homecoming celebration in September, we will reflect on how we are Rooted in Abundance and, as such, share a slideshow of our CHS family tree. Members of the congregation are invited to share photographs for inclusion in this video. These can be people, places, or items that remind you of your time at CHS. (Please be aware that if you submit a photograph that includes a child/teen or another individual, we may ask for permission to share the image before adding it to the video.)  You can add any images electronically by scanning the QR code below or visiting the link Photos for Slideshow Rooted in Abundance 2026 https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1GPAY6Yme0W2GWBNgCRMVIEKDNZpI-9Hv?usp=share_link. (CNTL+Click) If the photograph is not digital, please contact Mary or Gary, and we will make arrangements to scan it for the video.

Parish-Wide Read

Everyone in the congregation is invited to read the book “Church Tomorrow?” by The Rev. Stephanie Spellers between now and Labor Day. The cost per book is $16.25 and copies are available now in the office. There is also an electronic version available for e-readers. Over the summer read, then join a small group in the Fall to discuss. If cost is an obstacle, please contact Mo. Kim directly to make a different arrangement.

If you are interested in facilitating a small-group discussion about the book “Church Tomorrow?”, please contact Mother Kim. Currently, we have 4 folks who have agreed to lead groups in the Fall.

Our Service Auction will be on October 3! Find out how you can help!

Our Annual Service Auction has been a key source of fellowship and fundraising for over forty years. This major event brings our entire church community together and offers many opportunities for participants to volunteer in service to our church.  It's a opportunity to invite friends and family, too for a fun night out!

Save the Date! The auction this year will be on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026

We are very excited about our auction theme this year…. “A Starry, Starry Night: Celebrating Sixty Years of Faith, Family & Fellowship.”  Expect to be "star struck" by the ambience and auction items that will be offered this year.

Most of the items in the live and silent auctions are donated by parishioners. The donations are often offers of hospitality – summer garden parties, surf and turf barbecues, behind-the-scenes tours, afternoon teas, homemade wood-oven pizza parties, and so many other creative offerings. All foster tremendous fellowship that is enjoyed by winners and their guests during the year ahead.  Other items include get-aways, handmade items, gift certificates to restaurants/events, and some unique surprises! Watch for more information!

If you are interested in helping out with this event, please reach out to Sally Bird at sally.bird@churchholyspirit.org

Regularly Scheduled Activities - Check the CHS Calendar!

The link below sends an email to a group of people who are committed to prayer and will add your request to their prayers. The prayer list is open to all. It is a public list accessible to all members of the prayer team. All requests for prayer are welcome. If you or someone you love is a member of the congregation of the Church of the Holy Spirit and is in need of pastoral care - a hospital visit, communion, or some other spiritual need, please be sure to contact the clergy to arrange for this care.  The Rev. Kim Reinholz, our rector, can be reached directly via phone or text at 908-437-8209. She is on the prayer team, but please arrange visits directly rather than via this email.
