The Third Sunday after Pentecost

June 26, 2022

What's happening at CHS?

FREE Books!

We are cleaning out the library in the undercroft and have books to pass on to new homes. In the Narthex are both children's and adult books. Please help yourself to as many of these books as you would like. Any books left after service on June 26 (this Sunday!  The Jan Karon books are good reading.) will be donated to the library. If you are available to transport the leftovers to the library, please contact [email protected], otherwise the books will be disposed of in the recycling.

June 23 & 30 - CHS School Offering: Primer on Gender

Join Wendy Hallstrom for a 2 session Primer on Gender the last 2 weeks of June. Meetings will be hybrid - in person we’ll meet in the St. Julian room in the undercroft. Zoom registration is required for on-line attendees.

June 26 - CHS Book Group Discussion

Just a reminder that we are meeting this Sunday, the 26th, after the 10 am service, in the St. Martin room. PLEASE bring or drop off your book in the office!! With the summer months upon us, I also wanted your feedback about whether or not we should take a break until September. I am happy to continue the book group, and, in fact, I printed out copies of the Library's Book Kit list to bring to Sunday's meeting. We can take a look at their selections to see what interests us next.

You also can go on the Hunterdon County Library website, and they have a list of their kits available, if you'd like to make some suggestions for our next read. I'm so glad we're resuming our book club -- I will bring cookies!!!

Warm regards, Suzanne

Preparing for Sunday

(Lectors & Intercessor and others serving

Find the lessons appointed for Sunday here >

In Sunday's readings we learn that our relationship with God always comes at a price. In 2 Kings (SC), we learn how Elisha succeeded Elijah when he is taken to heaven in a fiery chariot. In 1 Kings (GR), we hear the story of how God first called Elisha as Elijah’s successor. Paul urges the Galatians to use their spiritual freedom to live in the Spirit. Jesus teaches his disciples the cost of following him.
