Resilient and ready — learning continues despite the storm

We are grateful that our area was spared the worst of Hurricane Helene’s impact. To stay prepared, our students participated in an at-home learning school day, completing age-appropriate assignments from home and participating in classes online. The photos above highlight their dedication, ensuring that learning continues, even during inclement weather.

This team worked diligently to provide nearly 5,900 students with sack breakfasts and lunches to take home yesterday, ensuring they would be fed during today's campus closure due to inclement weather.

Thank you, CCS Nutrition!

A big thank you to Laura Malmquist, Carrollton City Schools Director of Nutrition, along with her managers and crew, for their hard work in providing sack breakfasts and lunches to nearly 5,900 students for today's at-home learning day. In addition to serving breakfast and lunch at school yesterday, this team worked tirelessly to ensure our students were fed today.

Golden Giving campaign finishes strong

The Carrollton City Schools Education Foundation wrapped up its annual Golden Giving fundraising campaign in late August. Golden Giving is a simple way community members can make a one-time or recurring donation to support the foundation’s program areas which include scholarships, classroom grants, and field trip experiences. The foundation’s current focus is to support more field trips for students who cannot afford to attend. There was a “Gold Out” celebration at the second home football game on Aug. 30 to close out the campaign. A projected $45K was raised from community members through monthly recurring or one-time donations. Currently, more than sixty percent of employees also give each month to support the foundation. Each employee and community member enrolled was entered into a raffle at the Gold Out event.
