Dear CHT Member,

This rainy summer continues and I know many people across Vermont are still dealing with the aftermath of flooding. Although CHT did not suffer flood or rain damage, our friends at Downstreet Housing in Barre did. CHT is lending support, and a few volunteer crews from our staff assisted with clean up, and we'll help recovery efforts statewide in any way we can.

Earlier this month, hundreds of CHT members attended our annual picnic for food and fun. I loved grilling with Board member Antoinette Bennett-Jones and seeing so many of you. Please check out the photos and enjoy!

Here's some great news on the creation of more housing: Braeburn Apartments, the former Ho Hum motel on Williston Road in South Burlington, is entering the final stage of construction, transitioning from a Covid-19 isolation and quarantine facility for people experiencing homelessness to 20 permanently supportive apartments for people formerly unhoused. The apartments will open next month.

And here is more good news: CHT just purchased three former dorms from St. Michael's College at Fort Ethan Allen and construction of 65 apartments has begun. See the feature below for more details.

Thanks for all of your support, and for joining us at our community engagement events this summer.

It was a beautiful day at North Beach in Burlington for our Members' Day Picnic. Thank you to all of our residents, homeowners, supporters, Board members and staff who came out to celebrate the CHT community!
