Dear CHT Member,
It’s back! Our Annual Members' Day Picnic! Our free fun and food at the beach is back again after two years of Covid. Mark your calendars and save Saturday, August 20th, 11:00am – 1:30pm at North Beach Pavilion. Please sign up so we can make sure everyone is fed!
We had a great groundbreaking for 36 apartments at Stuart Avenue in Colchester. CHT and Evernorth worked with the Town of Colchester and SD Ireland to bring this affordable development to fruition. We are thankful to the Town of Colchester and to the many state agencies that supported this endeavor in building these new affordable homes.
Speaking of new, we are looking forward to working with Dave Farrington, Al Senecal, and Scott Ireland on the first phase of CityPlace in downtown Burlington. CHT's construction of 80 affordable apartments in the heart of the City, along with hundreds of market rate homes, will be a major step in meeting the housing needs of Burlington and also be a major boost for downtown.
And there’s more to come! Watch this space for more announcements as we continue to work to meet the housing needs of low- and moderate-income people.
Check out results from our resident survey. We continue to learn and grow and strive to do better on behalf of all of our residents and communities. This feedback helps us to do that.
A final word: Love is love. It’s important to recognize how important this is because June is Pride Month, and also in the context of the world we are living in right now. Take the time to express your love in words, and in actions.
My love to you,

CHT Staff Nominated for Excellence in Service
|
|
Congratulations to CHT's Ho Hum Motel staff and Resident Services Manager Emily Taylor who were each nominated for a 2022 Excellence in Service Award presented by New England Resident Service Coordinators (NERSC). Each nominee was recognized for the positive impact the work they do every day makes in peoples' lives.
The staff at Ho Hum have been providing hands on services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in an emergency motel setting since the beginning of the pandemic – the only Covid quarantine site in the state. Emily was called out for how she "exemplifies the way to be an advocate, empowering people in their independence, while still being a constant support." During the pandemic, Emily was the sole on-site service coordinator at a new building to CHT, with 68 households all coming out of homelessness.
Thank you to Emily and the staff at Ho Hum Motel for the their dedication and incredible service to support the needs of residents.
