Dear CHT Member,

It’s hard to believe it's March already!

We are thankful for TD Bank’s continuing support and we are grateful for receiving their Housing for Everyone grant. Besides being our headquarters’ neighbor in Burlington, TD has consistently been an investor in affordable housing and a steadfast supporter of CHT and its programs for many years.

In Winooski, CHT has great new homeownership opportunities with 3 bedroom Townhouses and Rowhouses for sale at Butternut Grove Condominiumsthe application deadline has been extended! If you are interested in buying a home, we encourage you to apply now.

We are very pleased to announce a brand new initiative that will develop 100 new homes for a range of incomes in Hinesburg. Jan Blomstrann has agreed to donate land just south of Champlain Valley Union High School for a mix of housing in partnership with Sterling Construction and Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity. We're just getting started, so look for progress updates in this newsletter and on our website.

Lastly, we've been named a 2022 Best Place to Work in Vermont by Vermont Business Magazine and we have job openings! Please consider coming to work at CHT in an environment that is both rewarding and mission driven.

Be safe, stay healthy - and remember, spring is coming!

100 Affordable Homes Coming to Hinesburg
Champlain Housing Trust is excited to partner with Sterling Construction and Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity to create 100 new affordable homes for a range of incomes in Hinesburg. This exciting new development is possible due to the donation of 46 acres of land by philanthropist Jan Blomstrann.

Sixty percent of these new homes will be perpetually affordable to households earning less than 100% of median income (approximately $86,400 for a family of three) through CHT's internationally recognized Shared Equity Program.

Design, community engagement, and permitting are planned for this spring and summer. The first homes should be ready to purchase in the summer of 2024, with the full build-out completed by 2026.

Farmworker Housing Repair Loan Program
Champlain Housing Trust will soon be accepting applications for the Vermont Farmworker Housing Repair Loan Program. This program will allow farmers to make essential repairs and necessary improvements to their farmworker housing. The goal of this program is to preserve this important affordable housing resource and to help improve the health and welfare of the farm workforce.

Want to Make a Long Term Impact?
Monthly giving helps Champlain Housing Trust provide affordable homes and connects residents with community resources. Think of a recurring monthly gift as little extra rent or mortgage payment so CHT can help those struggling to meet their monthly bills.

Thank you for giving a helping hand to neighbors who need it!

TD Charitable Foundation Awards Grants to Local Housing Groups
Champlain Housing Trust was among three Vermont non-profit housing organizations to receive a Housing for Everyone grant from TD Charitable Foundation, a grant program helping to provide affordable housing since 2005.

CHT, who was one of 33 organizations selected from more than 357 applicants, will use the $150,000 grant to support vital resident services.

Best Places to Work 2022!
We are happy to share that CHT has been named one of the Best Places to Work in VT 2022 by Vermont Business Magazine!
