Scuba Saint Lucia presented with Special PADI Award
40 years went by just like that! Today we were presented with a special PADI award to celebrate Scuba St.Lucia's 40 years of dedicated membership and leadership in growing the Caribbean diving industry 2022.
Throughout this time, we were fortunate to work with an amazing team of consummate professionals, who took us from strength to strength. Thank you to PADI and to Erica Wedephol, our Caribbean regional director who came to visit with us today.
Kudos to Nick Troubetzkoy who recognized early on the potential of Saint Lucia as a dive destination and founded one of the first scuba operations in Saint Lucia. We were the first resort to advertise in scuba diving magazines and visit dive shows. I distinctly remember my first DEMA tradeshow in San Antonio, in 1984 or 1985. Nick also recognized the importance of preserving the marine environment and was an early advocate for the establishment of marine protected areas.

We did the Tout Bagay tour and it was FANTASTIC. We highly recommend it -- a must. Every single staff person on the boat was amazing -- kind, compassionate, witty, and shared important historical and current day facts about the island to build your appreciation for this incredible country. The volcano tour, waterfall, and snorkeling / swimming were wonderful experiences, And then the time on the boat, views from the boat, and music and dancing were so memorable. When we come to St. Lucia next, we will definitely do this again. It's also very kid-friendly - our kids had a blast.
