FEBRUARY IS INSURANCE CAREERS MONTH
 
February has been designated as Insurance Careers Month by a group of carriers, trade associations and industry partners. The insurance industry needs to fill approximately 400,000 positions in the next 5 years, and graduates from risk and insurance programs meet only 10-15% of that need. OHIO ALLOWS CE CREDIT CARRYOVER

Starting Feb. 1, agents may carryover up to 12 CE credits to the next renewal period. The carryover amount - which can include credits earned before Feb. 1 - will count as general credits. This is to ensure that special CE requirements such as ethics, surety bail bonds, and title insurance must still be completed within each two-year period. Kentucky already allows 12 CE hours to be carried over.  Read More

Excess liability insurer has no duty to investigate claims
 
The insured dump-truck owner brought an action against its excess liability insurer, alleging that the insurer breached its policy and duty of good faith and fair dealing by not investigating claims against the insured, and by refusing to tender its policy limits to spur settlement negotiations in an underlying action.   Read More
