CELEBRATE WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH

Women’s History Month has its origins as a national celebration in 1981, but International Women's day has been celebrated since the early 1900s.

After being petitioned by the National Women’s History Project, Congress passed Pub. L. 100-9 which designated the month of March 1987 as “Women’s History Month.

In March, let's celebrate the contributions women have made and recognize the specific achievements women have made globally.

Here are some ways we can collectively celebrate and honor Women's History Month:

WHAT'S NEW IN CIE?

New CIE User Training

This training is for anyone that is new to CIE and needs access to the platform or anyone looking to get a refresher on CIE.

Original E-learning sunsets March 30 People who completed the old training still get access to the CIE platform.

During this five-meeting course for new and existing partners that are looking to onboard their teams in CIE, we will guide the group through the milestones of rolling out CIE across your team(s).

Elderhelp of San Diego

Care Coordination Program

COVID-19 Update: Some services may be modified due to COVID-19. Offers support with coordinating care, help navigating benefits, advocacy and health literacy, family caregiver support and help transitioning to home from hospital. Volunteers are available to assist with grocery shopping, companionship, organizing mail and paperwork, home safety, gardening and yard maintenance, and more. Volunteers complete a training, background and DMV check, references and interview. Available to all income levels.

R-U-Ok Daily Phone Call

Provides daily phone calls to seniors to ensure safety and provide peace of mind. Calls are made by a live person Monday through Friday.

Senior A Go Go

COVID-19 update: Providing medically necessary transportation only during the COVID-19 pandemic. Seniors A Go Go is a volunteer driver program that offers curb-to-curb, door-to-door, or door-thru-door transportation services.

Referral Spotlight

211 VITA & CalEITC Direct Referral

211 San Diego's CalEITC Tax Program educated clients on potential CalEITC, EITC, and YCTC tax credits.

211 San Diego also screens callers for eligibility for free tax appointments through the VITA tax sites.

To connect clients to this service, you can send a direct referral using CIE. Search for “211 VITA & CalEITC Direct Referral.”

Clients can call 2-1-1or visit the website for more information.

UPCOMING MEETINGS

Coordinated Action for Financial Assistance (CAFA) Workgroup

The Coordinated Action for Financial Assistance (CAFA) workgroup meetings occur on the 3rd Friday of every month (until June) from 9:00 is to 10:00 am.

The next meeting is on Friday, March 18, at 9:00 am

CIE Partner Gathering

The CIE Partner Network works to improve the overall service delivery system for clients. Our meeting provides a forum for partners to share updates about ongoing CIE Initiatives, share trends in our community, and collaborate on how we as a network are leveraging our partnership, data sharing, and the CIE technology platform to address the social determinants of health and increase health equity.

Join us for a range of content. Each month, we may dive into the latest technology projects, elicit feedback on the platform’s care coordination tools, or spotlight programs and supports for unique populations. The partner gathering is a space to engage with peers across our shared network. Join us on the 4th Thursday of every month (except November and December) at 9:00 am via Zoom.

The next CIE Partner gathering is on March 24 at 9:00 am
