CELEBRATE BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history. Also known as African American History Month, the event grew out of “Negro History Week,” the brainchild of noted historian Carter G. Woodson and other prominent African Americans. Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated the month of February as Black History Month. Other countries around the world, including Canada and the United Kingdom, also devote a month to celebrating Black history.

CIE UPDATES
Affinity Groups
CIE is launching the first Affinity Group meeting on Monday, March 21, 2022, for new and existing partners that are looking to onboard their teams in CIE!

During this five-meeting course, we will guide the group through the milestones of rolling out CIE across your team(s). 

Planned schedule: Mondays, from 10 am – 11:30 am

  • Meeting 3: 4/11
  • Meeting 4: 4/18
  • Meeting 5: 5/2

211 San Diego's CalEITC Tax Program educated clients on potential CalEITC, EITC, and YCTC tax credits.

211 San Diego also screens callers for eligibility for free tax appointments through the VITA tax sites.

REFERRAL SPOTLIGHT
Perinatal Care Network
The Perinatal Care Network (PCN) is a toll-free phone line that links families eligible for pregnancy-related Medi-Cal to care. PCN works to assure that pregnant women obtain early and continuous prenatal care and other services needed during pregnancy.
 
To connect clients to this service you can send a direct referral using CIE. Search for “Perinatal Care Network."

COVID-19 Vaccine Appointment Information

Community partners are hosting events to provide information and resources in multiple languages.

ONE SAFE PLACE WEBINAR
The Leichtag Foundation is hosting a virtual community information webinar for One Safe Place - North County Family Justice Center today, Monday, February 14, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. 

At One Safe Place, a team of community partners and volunteers will provide confidential, comprehensive services free of charge to anyone who has experienced domestic violence, family violence, elder abuse, sexual assault, or sex trafficking, regardless of age, gender, income, and immigration status. The Center will be a safe space where individual needs are met, clients feel validated, families are protected, and survivors reclaim their lives.

Clients will be connected to acute crisis-care, advocacy, childcare, counseling, educational and employment opportunities, legal services, and shelter and housing. Read more about the Center here.

UPCOMING MEETINGS
Coordinated Action for Financial Assistance (CAFA) Workgroup
The Coordinated Action for Financial Assistance (CAFA) workgroup meetings occur on the 3rd Friday of every month (until June) from 9:00 is to 10:00 am.

The next meeting is on Friday, February 18, at 9:00 am.
CIE Partner Gathering

The CIE Partner Network works to improve the overall service delivery system for clients. Our meeting provides a forum for partners to share updates about ongoing CIE Initiatives, share trends in our community, and collaborate on how we as a network are leveraging our partnership, data sharing, and the CIE technology platform to address the social determinants of health and increase health equity.

Join us for a range of content. Each month we may dive into the latest technology projects and elicit feedback on the platform’s care coordination tools. We may spotlight programs and supports for unique populations. The partner gathering is a space to engage with peers across our shared network. Join us on the 4th Thursday of every month (except November and December) at 9:00 am via Zoom.

The next CIE Partner gathering is on Thursday, February 23
from 9:00 am to 10:00 am

Monthly CIE Training
Learn how to navigate the new CIE platform updates including referral and case management dashboards, screening tools, alerts, and more.

Monthly CIE training occurs on the 2nd Wednesday of the month (except December). Individual training opportunities are available. Contact the CIE Helpdesk for more information.


The next monthly training is on March 9, at 10:00 am.
