Thank you to everyone who attended our monthly partner gathering, the CIE Team appreciates your continued presence and partnership. For our community that couldn't join us, here is everything we covered:

Program Highlight: 211- CalFresh Enrollment Center

CalFresh Awareness Month takes place each May as a statewide campaign to help reduce food insecurity. It raises awareness about CalFresh, clears up common eligibility myths, and helps connect eligible residents to food benefits and application support.

Ways to help connect your client to our CalFresh Enrollment Services

An Inside Look into CIE Community Voice

Imani T. Robinson is a lifelong San Diegan and dedicated advocate for equity, education, and the arts (read full bio in meeting slides).

Imani took us into the inner workings of the symbiotic relationship between board membership and system's change. Specific to her experience as a CIE Community Voice Board Member, Imani spoke to the way Community Voice has influenced 211/CIE projects such as: updating the searching experience on the 211 database, care team alerts for justice-impacted individuals and more. Imani and her fellow board members provide critical insights, powerful perspectives, and tangible suggestions to shape how 211/CIE operates. "It is a perfect representation of design thinking."

Community Voice: Affinity Groups

Affinity groups are designed for community-based organizations and agency service providers, who facilitate access to health and social services, based around emerging needs. CIE Community Voice initiatives prioritize this method of on-going dialogue to learn how we can all improve service & program offerings in San Diego County. These learning are then collected and presented as Community Care plans. To date, 8 Community Care Plans have been published on our CIE website.
