Dear Friends of CIHF,
The Institute had an exciting and productive Spring semester! Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the Advisory Board meeting, and the CIHF Roundtable: Nature, Health and Wellbeing. The meeting brought together many of our Advisory Board members who shared their creative visions for the future of healthcare and the Institute's role in helping to craft that future; the Roundtable benefited from the participation of dedicated industry leaders, scholars, and students who gathered in order to exchange ideas and suggest practical solutions for expanding understanding of the connections between nature and healthy living.
This past May, CIHF student Alexina Federhen graduated with her BS in Design and Environmental Analysis (DEA) as the first minor in Healthy Futures! This is the inaugural year of the program and we are eager to continue expanding our minor program and see Ms. Federhen's graduation as the first of many to come. Congratulations Alexina!
Finally, please do not hesitate to contact us if there is news you wish to share with the CIHF community. Feel free to send an email to Program Assistant, Ellie Mendoza, at
ev227@cornell.edu.

Jay Yoon, Assistant Professor of Design and Environmental Analysis
Jay (JungKyoon) Yoon is an assistant professor in the Department of Design + Environmental Analysis at Cornell University where he leads the Meta Design & Technology Lab.
Yoon investigates how products can be systematically designed to enrich users’ momentary as well as long-term experiences by means of emotions, building on knowledge and methods from user-centered design and positive psychology. His research revolves around experience-driven design with a focus on emotions in human-product interactions, design-mediated behavior change and psychological well-being, and development of design tools and techniques that support designers in designing for them. The research findings have been applied to and iteratively improved through several industry projects that covered multiple design contexts and business domains, e.g., a smart home service, an airport crew-center, a museum tour and a brand loyalty program.
His research and education themes include, but are not limited to: experience-driven design, design for emotion and subjective well-being, design for behavior change, pervasive healthcare, empirical studies into the product development process, methods and tools for early design stages, product service systems, research methodology, to name a few.
