CILDRC reminds you to thank
our first responders, medical professionals, grocers, truck drivers and the host of other essential workers in our community who continue operations so that we can have what we need while we continue to navigate this pandemic called COVID-19.
CILDRC team members are enjoying being in contact with all of our current and former consumers.
We are happy to be speaking with those of you who are participating in our assessment surveys. The CILDRC team and our community partners have been providing those of you in needs with connections to resources.

USDA Approves Florida’s Request to Launch Online Grocery Purchase Pilot Program
The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) announced Florida will pilot a program for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients to purchase groceries online
through
Walmart
and
Amazon
with the use of an EBT card.
This is an accommodation the statewide
Centers for Independent Living (CILs)
were able to advocate for through the designated
“CIL Seat”
– thanks to
Florida Independent Living Council and Florida Association for Centers for Independent Living
- at the Emergency Operations Center.

Florida Unemployment Updates
Governor Ron DeSantis, by Executive Order 20-104, has suspended the biweekly “actively seeking work” reporting requirement. This means, beginning April 16, claimants do not need to re certify your weeks bi-weekly to receive your Reemployment Assistance benefits.
For unemployment claims assistance, call 1-800-204-2418.
If you a person with a disability and you continue experience problems with filing for unemployment, please contact United Way by dialing 2-1-1 so they connect you with resources.

UNITED WAY OF WEST FLORIDA DISTRIBUTES $246,266 IN PHASE ONE OF COVID-19 RESPONSE FUNDING
PENSACOLA, FLA. – April 16, 2020 United Way of West Florida (UWWF) has distributed its first phase of COVID-19 Response Funding to nonprofit agencies providing direct support to impacted individuals and families in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
The COVID-19 Response Fund will target assistance to ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households that have been economically impacted by the pandemic with expenses such as rent, mortgage, utilities, childcare, and other household expenses.
Contact United Way at 2-1-1 for information on how to reach one of the participating agencies.
