The National Steering Committee (NSC) for the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program is thrilled to announce that we raised more than $1.75 million in gross revenue at our annual auction, held in conjunction with World of Concrete on January 24.

In addition to a concrete mixer truck donated by Mack® Trucks, Inc. and Revolution Concrete Mixers, a concrete pump donated by Alliance

Concrete Pumps, Papé Kenworth, and Kenworth, a concrete mixer truck donated by Peterbilt Motors Company and Con-Tech Manufacturing and an S-485 Laser Screed® donated by Somero Enterprises, we had a multitude of items targeted specifically for the concrete industry.

Live and silent auction items included cement, fly ash, aggregate, concrete saws, drills, safety equipment, training sessions, reference books and software subscriptions, sports travel packages, golf and vacation travel packages and much more.

MTSU'S Kellie Christian Receives Weatherton Award

To highlight CIM’s success in developing young industry professionals, in 2015, World of Concrete established the Weatherton Award, established to honor Bob Weatherton and his many contributions to the concrete industry. Each year during World of Concrete, students from the CIM program are invited to present information on their industry-based internships, applied research participation and conclusions from capstone class work. Again this year, the presentations were judged by a panel of industry professionals.

The award, along with a $2,500 scholarship, was presented to Middle Tennessee State University student Kellie Christian on Jan. 24 at CIM’s National Steering Committee meeting. Congratulations Kellie!
