Welcome Autumn Coleman and Megan Pujol



Please join the CIRES administration in welcoming two new Proposal Analysts to the CIRES Pre-Award Team.

Autumn Coleman joined CIRES in November. Autumn previously worked as the Coordinator for State and Athletic Scholarships at Western Kentucky University, managing awards, compliance, and reconciliation processes.

Megan Pujol joined CIRES this month. Megan brings knowledge of state and federal regulations, HIPAA, and FERPA; and experience working with sponsors and PIs.

CU Boulder’s Information Security Awareness Course


All CIRES researchers, faculty, and staff are required to complete the CU Boulder Information Security Awareness Course. You have been or will be contacted by email from the Office of Information Technology (OIT) if you are required to complete the course, which is mandatory for all active CU employees, including those embedded at NOAA, every two years. Discrimination and Sexual Misconduct training


The Discrimination and Sexual Misconduct training is required every three years for CIRES staff located on the CU campus, and every year for NOAA-embedded employees. You have been or will be contacted by CIRES HR if you are overdue, and you can check your status by logging into the CU Boulder portal and checking the “SkillSoft” tile for the last completion date on your “Learning Transcript.” Questions: [email protected]

CIRES calendars are available


2024 CIRES calendars are now available for pick up! Grab one from the CIRES Message Center (third floor of CIRES on campus) or the CIRES admin offices at DSRC (3B508 and 3B509).

CIRES photo contest deadline: December 31


All CIRES researchers, faculty, staff, visiting fellows, and graduate students are welcome to submit to our 2023 photo contest! Winning photographers receive a large, professionally printed reproduction of their work. We especially want to see images of field research and lab work. The contest closes at midnight, December 31. Engage with the CIRES Tribal Advisor


James Rattling Leaf, the new CIRES Tribal Advisor, is coming to Boulder in January to offer two seminars on "Utilizing Cultural Intelligence to advance Tribal engagement and partnerships". Please join us on Wednesday, Jan 24 in the CIRES auditorium or on Thursday, Jan 25 at DSRC in conference room GC402. In-person attendance at DSRC is open to NOAA affiliates only. Friends Middle School is looking for judges for their annual science fair. Projects are focused on sustainability and climate change solutions. The event is Wednesday, December 20, from 1 - 3 pm at Friends Middle School. Please fill out the Google form at this link to sign up!
