Thank you for your support of CISC in bridging cultures, communities, and generations. Join us on October 14 to celebrate the impactful work of CISC to create opportunities for success. We’ve extended the early bird ticket sales until September 22.

Our An Evening of Friendship fundraising event will be held at the Bellevue Arts Museum starting at 6pm. Through generous contributions, CISC’s team of 130 bilingual staff is able to serve more than 12,000 immigrants and their family members each year.

September 19 is National Voter Registration Day

Civic engagement and voter participation is vital for a healthy democracy that reflects community priorities. CISC is committed to assisting our immigrant clients with the voting process through outreach events, candidate forums, and hosting our own “Ballot Parties”, which includes walking voters through the whole voting process from voter registration to the last step of returning their ballot.

"Care Buddy" Program Promotes Social Connections

Everyone needs a care buddy, even our elderly seniors!

The “Care Buddy” program, which is a part of the Senior Helping Senior Network Program, exists to provide our Asian senior elderly clients an opportunity for emotional support by connecting with a Care Ambassador Volunteer, which we call a “Care Buddy”.

The process starts with a phone call from a trained “Care Buddy”. When trust is built, the “care buddy” extends an invitation to meet each other face-to-face. As the relationship progresses, the hope is that our senior clients will feel comfortable enough to take that next step to engage in in-person activities at the Sunshine Garden Senior Center. Just recently, our seniors and “care buddies” went on a field trip to visit the Highline SeaTac Botanical Gardens (pictured above).

Seeking Youth Volunteers

Our youth volunteer program is the foundation of our future!

Currently, we have 40 students enrolled in the Youth Volunteer Program. In this program, they have the opportunity to engage in fun activities that include events like the Dragon Boat Festival, “Tech Help Day” and various outreach events.

Our students also personally benefit from workshops, such as the "Anti-Bias and Anti-Hate Workshop for Youth" and the "Chase X CISC Financial Literacy Workshop," which empower them with essential life skills and provide them with a broader understanding of social issues in their community.

By participating in CISC’s volunteer program, our students can use their skills and talents to impact their community and gain new skills as they grow into responsible civic leaders of tomorrow.
