Dear CJDS Community,

I hope this email continues to find you safe and healthy.

This morning’s virtual All School Tefillah was so beautiful. I loved seeing all of the faces of our amazing children and hearing the chorus of “hellos” and “goodbyes.” It filled me with so much joy and hope and reassurance of all that we are working for to reopen CJDS in person.

A few reminders in tonight’s email:
  1. The list of items each child should bring to school
  2. Acceptable masks for school
  3. CJDS clothing swap!
  4. After-care sign up
All students should bring the following items to school:
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat
  • Sweater/Sweatshirt
  • Rain boots
  • Rain coat
  • Their CJDS fanny pack with at least 2 masks inside
  • At least 2 masks to leave at school
  • Masks must fit and child must be able to take them on and off
  • Extra set of clothing (all ages)
  • Water Bottle(s)
*Students should come to school wearing clothes that they can manipulate on their own. Additionally, students should wear clothing and shoes that can get dirty.
Please refer to the CDC guidelines linked here for guidance on acceptable masks. Masks must fit the student’s face securely, and students must be able to put them on and off independently.
Note: Masks with an exhalation valves or vents are NOT acceptable for school.
CJDS clothing swap

On Fridays, students are asked to wear their blue CJDS polo shirt. During the soft open slots next week, a table will be set up in front of the school to be able to swap CJDS clothing. If you are bringing clothing to swap, please bring your items in individual ziploc bags with the size and description written on the outside. (i.e. “Long Sleeved Polo, Size 6)
After-care sign up

If you are interested in utilizing CJDS after-care from 8/31-9/30, please sign up by this Sunday, August 23rd so that we can ensure that the program is properly staffed.
I am so excited to see all of you next week!
Our Kesher Co-Presidents also have an update this week. Please enjoy the message below from our Parent Committee.

All the best,
Kesher Survey
Please use this link: Kesher Survey to help Kesher gather your interest and availability to be involved this school year.

This survey not only helps determine who may want to be on the front lines as the voice of their child's class, but also clarifies the kinds of touch points YOU are looking for from us.

Please complete the survey by Monday, August 31. If you have any questions, please reach out to Kesher here.

Thank you,

Gayle Kuhr and Sharon Barr Skolnik
