Dear CJDS Community,
Three weeks from today, we hope to begin our school year.
While we will continue to watch the infection rates for Franklin County, we are simultaneously preparing for the beginning of the school year and fine-tuning the plans for in-person learning, remote learning, and the always available hybrid option. After consulting with the Franklin County Department of Public Health today, we are reassured that our plans for reopening in person adhere to, or exceed, all of the guidelines issued by both the Department of Public Health and the CDC. Keeping in mind that this is an evolving situation, we wanted to share as much as we can. This email contains many details pertaining to each scenario.
The news this week has prompted us to make one big change with regards to our mask policy. At this time, we are requiring that
wear masks while indoors throughout the day.
Most importantly, reopening safely depends on all of us to make safe choices - particularly in the next 3 weeks. Please review our Community Compact and keep in mind the Talmudic teaching “Kol Yisrael Arevim Zeh BaZeh” - We are all responsible for each other.
Opening the CJDS building for in-person education will only be possible with the commitment of our families and our staff to make safe, socially distant choices over the next three weeks, and when school opens. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Wearing masks in public
- Refraining from large, indoor gatherings
- Keeping 6ft of distance between yourself and others
- Observing the State of Ohio Travel Advisory guidelines
We expect transparency about your health symptoms, your exposures and your travel plans. If you or anyone in your family has COVID-19 or has had direct contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19, be in touch as soon as possible.
