We wish our Speech and Debate team the best of luck in December's BQCFL Tournament this weekend. This tournament is preparation for the invitational that will be held in February. Members of the team who advance to the finals will have the chance to qualify for the upcoming state tournament.

The Christ the King National Honor Society will be holding a Toy drive for the Ronald McDonald House. Collection boxes will be in the front lobby, main office, and cafeteria from December 7th until December 20th.

We are collecting all toys for ages 0-18. Per hospital regulations they must be in their original boxes. No stuffed animals will be accepted.

The CK Campus is keeping the giving spirit going with our winter accessory drive. We will be collecting new adult and children's gloves, hats, scarves and socks to be donated to the St. John's University Veterans Success Center. Donations can be dropped off in the lobby or Daycare front desk until December 20th.
Last weekend the Christ the King men's and women's basketball teams flew to Los Angeles, California and played in the Chosen 1's High School Basketball Showcase at the Staples Center. The prestigious opportunity was only offered to the four high schools sponsored by Lebron James and Nike. Both teams had the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of college coaches, scouts and several Los Angeles Lakers players, including Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony.

The Women's team faced off against Sierra Canyon, a national powerhouse and a top 25 team in the country. The girls fought hard after being down early to tie the game but ended up losing 69-52.

The Men's team played against Los Angeles powerhouse Fairfax High School and won 51-42. Sophomore Dwayne Pierce led the way with 20 points and 6 rebounds.
