Rod's Tire and Service Scholarship Fund

Established by Rod and Carrie Koons, owners of Rod’s Tire in Hillsboro, the scholarship was created to give back to Marion County students as they pursue their post-secondary educational goals.

The scholarship provides financial assistance to graduating seniors and non-traditional students attending a Marion County high school who plan to pursue higher education or vocational training, with priority given to students entering an agriculture-related field.

This years scholarship recipient, Colby Suderman, plans to continue his education in agricultural science with a focus on agronomy. Through his education, Colby hopes to gain the knowledge and experience needed to make a positive impact on the future of agriculture.

Goessel Benefit Golf Tournament

The Goessel Community Foundation hosted its annual Benefit Golf Tournament on August 29 at Pine Edge Golf Course.

The event brought together 26 golfers for a day of fun, fellowship, and support for the Goessel community.

The tournament was made possible through the generous support of 23 sponsoring organizations and individuals. Their contributions, along with the participation of local golfers, helped make the event a success and support the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the Goessel community.

The Goessel Community Foundation is grateful to everyone who participated, sponsored, and helped make this year’s tournament possible!

DONOR CONNECTION - September

Imagine the future.

Your community foundation helps bring your charitable goals to life.

Early bird planning for year-end, major financial milestones, and redefining “big” inheritances

Hello from the community foundation!

As fall approaches, it's a natural time to look ahead. Whether you're thinking about year-end charitable giving, celebrating an important financial milestone, or considering the legacy you'd like to leave for future generations, a little planning today can make a big difference tomorrow. The community foundation is always happy to share trends and practical ideas to help you get ahead of the busy season—and so much more related to charitable giving!

Early birds, "bunching," and planning for year-end

Year-end giving often works best when planning starts long before the holidays. Learn why now is the perfect time to review your charitable plans, explore the benefits of "bunching" charitable gifts, and consider how your donor-advised fund at the community foundation can help you maximize both your impact and potential tax benefits.

From success to significance: Opportunities after a major financial milestone

Major life events often inspire us to think differently about what comes next. Whether you've sold a business, received an inheritance, retired, or crossed another important milestone, the community foundation can help you discover how thoughtful charitable planning can translate financial success into lasting community impact.

A "big" inheritance may not be all financial

The Great Wealth Transfer we’ve all been watching is about so much more than passing along assets to your heirs. The community foundation team welcomes conversations about generosity, shared family philanthropy, and thoughtful estate planning to help ensure that your values—and not just your wealth—continue to make a difference for generations to come.

As always, thank you for allowing the community foundation to be part of your charitable giving journey. We are honored to help you turn today's generosity into tomorrow's lasting impact. Please reach out anytime!

Warmly,

Angie Tatro, CEO
