Join CKCF on Giving Tuesday, December 3rd, as we kick-off our Patterson Family Foundation (PFF) Match Month!


CKCF is hosting an Open House from 10am – 2pm and a Chamber Ribbon Cutting will be held in our expanded office space at 10:30am (just down the hall from our main office)!


Refreshments will be served. We are looking forward to seeing everyone!

 

During December, contributions made to qualifying CKCF funds during this month-long PFF Match event will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $70,000. The match will be allocated with up to 60% following the donation and 40% will support CKCF's operating fund. Please stop by our office on December 3rd in recognition of this campaign while celebrating Giving Tuesday.

STAFF ATTENDS NATIONAL CONFERENCE

2024 Annual National Conference for Growing Community Foundations

 

CKCF Staff, Affiliate Staff, and several board members, attended the 2024 Annual National Conference for Growing Community Foundations in Wichita on October 16 - 18, hosted by the Kansas Association of Community Foundations. This year’s theme was “Empower. Engage. Evolve. Community Foundations Shaping the Future.” This conference has gained national recognition and has been designed to meet the needs of both new and seasoned board members and staff in practical training to enhance their skills in all major areas of community foundation operations. With over 400 attendees, our staff and board members were able to connect with many community foundations from across the United States.

WELCOME OUR 2024-2025 BOARD

CKCF hosted its Annual Meeting on October 28th at the Newton Public Library.


Angie Tatro, CEO, welcomed everyone and provided the opening remarks. Amy Budde, Immediate Past Chair, recognized our outgoing board members, Joel Gaeddert, Rod Kreie, James Regier, and Becky Wolfe, and officers. She also presented our new slate of officers and board members for the 2024-2025 year. A financial overview from 2023 along with 3rd Quarter 2024 highlights, was given by Don Voth, Treasurer, and Kelly Groening, Finance Chair. Carrie Herman, Executive Director introduced the Patterson Family Foundation staff funded positions while giving an update on the PFF Match Campaigns. Heather Porter, Chair, concluded the program, providing some leadership remarks.

UPCOMING EVENTS

CKCF is hosting a Food Drive November 3 – December 3 to benefit The Porch in Newton. Canned and non-perishable food items will be accepted. Extra appreciated items include: tuna or canned chicken, shelf stable milk, cereal, cooking oil (vegetable or canola), laundry detergent, deodorant, pads and tampons.

 

Items can be dropped off at the CKCF Office located at 400 S. Main, Suite 100 in Newton, Monday – Friday between 10am – 3pm. Donations can be left outside these hours by placing them in the black tote at the CKCF office door.

HCF MATCHED GIVING CAMPAIGN

The Burrton Community Foundation (BCF) is hosting a Small-Town Shindig on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Son Wray Ranch. Doors open at 5pm. This new fundraiser will support the Burrton Impact and Sign Funds. There will be a silent and live auction, a BBQ meal provided by Louie Q’s, music and an informational presentation. Ticket Costs: $100 per person; a Table of 6 for $575; or a table of 8 for $750.
