Baldwin Wallace arivate auditions are on Saturday, January 7th and Sunday, January 8th, 2023. The subject line of our last email contained the wrong dates. Apologies for any confusion this may have caused! Hope to see you there! Also, the Baldwin Wallace Masterclass on December 21st is now full. Next Big Announcement: Victoria Bussert, Head of the Musical Theatre program at Baldwin Wallace, is offering TWO Private Audition Days to choose from for MTCA students in New York City!

Over the past 6 years Baldwin Wallace has been approaching MTCA to schedule private auditions for our students, and we've had many acceptances generated from these private audition days.  As you know, Baldwin Wallace is a very competitive school to get into. This will be an excellent opportunity for our MTCA families in its personal exposure. This audition is only for musical theatre applicants.

All scheduling, applying, and audition requirements should be directed to Baldwin Wallace. You'll see these MTCA Audition dates listed in their dropdown of options. BW handles all the logistics. Contact the office of admissions. (nothing is scheduled with MTCA).

DETAILS and WHAT TO PREPARE

Private MTCA/Baldwin Wallace Audition

In NYC

Saturday, Jan 7th and Sunday, Jan 8th

• You have a choice of either date to audition.

• Please prepare 3 songs, 32-bar cuts. Victoria will select 2 during your audition. 

• You will be sent a dance combination to record yourself doing two weeks prior to your audition.

• You will record your monologue, one contemporary OR classical, dramatic, or comedic monologue, not exceeding 1 min.

• The wild card video (60-second limit) can be used to showcase anything you would like them to know about you including, but not limited to, a special skill, a story about your background, a speech on a topic you are passionate about or a piece on an instrument that you play. Feel free to use the wild card options to show what makes you unique.

• You will need to upload your recorded dance combo, Wild Card, and Monologue before your audition to the portal you'll be provided when you schedule with them.

• No Prescreen is required ahead of time!

• The deadline to apply, pay fees, and schedule is December 14th.

• Your audition slot is NOT confirmed with the school until your application is received, paid the audition fee, and you've received a confirmation email from BW that states your audition is confirmed. (all of this goes through BW). Must see it in writing!

• You WILL be able to select which audition date you prefer. So for those of you trying to schedule other schools that weekend you can. OR for those of you planning on doing the MTCA Mock Audition on Sat Jan 8th...great practice before your audition on Sun Jan 9th with BW!

• For any of you that have ALREADY signed up for an audition date with Baldwin Wallace, you ARE allowed to switch to one of the MTCA audition dates. However, you must contact the school immediately. All requests and questions go through Baldwin Wallace.  

• You must meet a minimum of two hours of song coaching in order to do this audition. Leo will be checking the list with Baldwin Wallace to ensure everyone signing up is indeed an MTCA student. And then checking to see that your MTCA minimums have been met in order to be fair to everyone on the team that is interested in auditioning. You also must have signed your MTCA contract. For those of you that haven't been using MTCA for song coaching, you will still need to coach at least two hours, two weeks prior to your audition. 

• There is a limit to how many students can be scheduled each day.  So make this a priority to your schedule now in completing your application and getting scheduled!

• There will be a Q&A at the end of the day

• Any of you participating in these private audition days... join the waitlist for the Baldwin Wallace Masterclass. Dec 21st Online. HUGE to meet and work with her NOW in a classroom setting before your audition! Let her learn who you ARE.

• And as always, think about the order of your auditions. With this Private MTCA / BW Audition day occurring at the top of January...it's another excellent school to position in your schedule at the beginning of the busy season.
