Student Highlight
A fourth-year PhD student in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, Luana Lamberti, is doing a fieldwork in Helvécia, an Afro-Brazilian community in Bahia this summer. "I am learning about the community's cultural expressions and language. They are a recognized maroon society with a rich cultural background." Lamberti's research interests are in Hispanic linguistics and Afro-varieties of Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish. She will be the president of the Brazilian Student Association (BRASA) this year, she served as vice president of the student organization during the 2018-2019 school year.

AATSP Spanish Immersion Weekend

Ohio AATSP 2019 Immersion weekend will be held at Deer Creek Lodge and Cabins. All Spanish teachers or teachers of other languages who speak Spanish are welcome to register!

2019 Quechua Alliance

This annual event aims to promote an exchange of ideas between Quechua speakers, community leaders, college students and professors who share an interest and passion for Quechua language and Andean culture. All attendants must register by November 7, 2019.
