Dr. Tara Sethia Becomes Inaugural Chair of the Ahimsa Center
Dr. Sethia, history professor, is the inaugural Shri Shantinath Endowed Chair in the Ahimsa Center in CLASS. "The Ahimsa Center is very close to my heart, and the establishment of the endowed chair through the generosity of donors—Prem and Sandhya Jain, Jasvant and Meera Modi, Bipin and Rekha Shah—will ensure the continuity of the center’s programs and advance them further, taking the center and Cal Poly Pomona to a new level of visibility,” said Sethia.

There's an App for That:
The Poly Post Launches News App
Even before the pandemic hit, The Poly Post was looking for ways to improve its connection within our campus community. The idea of a phone application was in discussion with The Poly Post student staff and faculty advisor Dr. Jason Turcotte.
While the student staff knew a remote setting was inevitable, it was vital for them to sustain their journalistic duty of keeping the CPP community informed, especially with the ever-changing and socially distant environment. Developing a mobile application and doing so quickly became top of mind for The Poly Post.

CLASS Broncos, in case you missed it — you have some new academic advising tools that will help you map out your path to graduation. CPP Connect, our platform for making appointments with advisors and tutors, has expanded with a new Planner tool and a new mobile app.

BroncoDirect is getting a new look. Starting Feb. 22nd, the online tool will have an updated design that makes it much easier to navigate your Student Center, both on laptop or mobile.

To protect your privacy and secure your Bronco account, Cal Poly Pomona is requiring 2-Step Authentication for all faculty, staff and student accounts. Starting April 8, you must have 2-Step Authentication to access your CPP account. IT recommends that you download the DUO Mobile application to your mobile device and choose to receive “push notifications” to authorize your login. Once your account is activated to use 2-Step Authentication, your account will require both steps (password and app) to access selected campus services. For more info, visit the 2-Step webpage.

"A television show featuring—or better yet, starring—Filipino nurses would teach viewers, and Hollywood, that Asian Americans aren’t a monolith."
